Chapter 23 – 21. Is Eating Painful?
‘It’s fucking easy.’
Allen skimmed through the questions on the test paper and wrote down the answers as easily as water.
Anyway, the test scores are there. She said she wasn’t really interested in rankings, but this time she was aiming for first place in her grade.
‘If I want to recruit the villainous young lady to my side, I’ll have to do this to shake her.’
Only 10 minutes to solve the last test paper. Other students struggled and screamed in agony, but aside from that, the test was too easy for me, so I could only sigh and fall asleep.
“The test is over. Let everyone put down their pens.”
When the unimportant extra teacher said that her exam was over, the school lunches were sad and the exam was over, so she hurriedly left the classroom while playing, but Allen was tired.
“Hey.”
“Huh? What is it?”
She sleeps on her stomach and wakes up with a cute bang on Allen’s desk and a startle.
“Looking at the way you drool, it looks like you gave up on the test.”
Chloe tries to recruit her by overpowering her test scores.
She was going to leave her alone until she got the ranks, but she figured it out and she came looking for her.
‘Did you see better than that? It’s a confident expression.’
“Ughhhhh!!!”
Allen noisily stretched her arms as she groaned.
“Shit …! Isn’t she a face full of confidence rather than that?”
“It’s not natural. I studied harder and studied harder at the absurd sound of someone dumber than me teaching me.”
“Yes. She studies hard. But what to do? Studying and taking exams are two different things, Chloe.”
“Ha! I don’t know what kind of confidence he is, but he’s bold.”
She bursts into a snort of exasperation and glares at me with contemptuous eyes… Why is it so cute to see a little puppy complaining?
‘He has a bit of a beagle.’
“You’re quite confident. Anyway, I’m pretty Spartan, so follow me on your own.”
“S, spa, what? What are you talking about? And follow me well. Are you saying you did better on the test than me!?”
Allen stood up from her chair and looked down at Chloe, who was on his chest.
“Don’t be disappointed and don’t cry when the results come out. Then you’ll be hungry and go first.”
Arlen, stroking her hair involuntarily and smiling brightly, left her classroom.
“What kind of guy are you bluffing like that? And touching other people’s hair as you please…!”
Chloe, straightening her tousled hair, ran out of her classroom, looked back at Allen, and, believing she would never do that, tidied up her desk and headed for her dormitory.
Meanwhile, when Allen left her classroom and used the ring of the red dragon to activate the dormant mana in her body, her tired body began to feel refreshed and light.
She said, ‘I thought it would be stiff because I haven’t been using mana for the past few days. Not bad.’
The circulating energy of mana was indeed warm and hot.
Is it natural that the red dragon’s ring forced me to change the nature of my mana?
“I’m starving to death…”
Perhaps it was because she cycled her mana for the purpose of briefly waking her up, making her even more hungry.
As she opened the door to the restaurant alone, Allen thought that she had come to the wrong place in the empty atmosphere.
However, her savory aroma and appetite-stimulating smell reminded her that this was a restaurant, so she chose today’s lunch set and sat down to wait.
‘Hmm… If you want to gamble, you’ll need an item. But you need money to buy items. But now I have very little money.’
To be honest, the Mestia family is a family with a lot of money. Even so, Allen and Brenda’s father, Marquis Mestia, is a very picky person, to the point of giving up on the day he is found out for buying an adult item with that much money.
‘In the end, I have to gamble and earn it. No. The risk is too great. But I’m reluctant to borrow money from Pamela, who has turned her face.’
“I-over there…”
“Wow!? What, what? Why are you here?”
“I-I’m… Hungry… To the restaurant…”
I was very surprised. Seriously, I wasn’t kidding, I was really surprised. I almost fell out of my chair, shiaang!
“Kuh, keuh…! Really?”
Mirai Mirai, sitting across from Allen who clears his throat in embarrassment, lowers her head and says.
‘No, fuck… There are so many seats, why would you want to sit across from me? Was it filmed? Is this the same as the person in charge?’
Curse.
There is no way I can cope with this now. Even more so, Mirai, a blacksmith who is said to be a curse itself, must not offend Mirai.
‘Chuck, for the first time…With a person…And that’s the guy I like…!’
But unlike Allen, who was worried about her, she was delighted, thinking that if Le Canet pampered her Mirai with her femininity, she was in another sense fortunate that her grown blue-black hair covered her own face.
For her girl, Mirai Mirai, she has never shared a proper meal with anyone, let alone a meal with her family.
Even if Mirai shows up at a nearby restaurant, she gets food poisoning, maggot-infested rotten meat. All sorts of negative incidents seemed to follow her girl.
Of course, because of Mirai’s mana, as mentioned above, accidents occurred, but overall, everything was not done by Mirai’s mana.
Even so, she was abandoned by her parents because of her strange mana nature of Mirai’s misfortune and curse. Even if it wasn’t her fault, she even blamed herself, saying that it happened because of her.
She said that it was everyone else’s fault and all the misfortunes were caused by Mirai herself. Every night she buried herself in her pillow and wept silently, soaking her tears.
If the existence of Le Canet had not been by Mirai’s side, Mirai would have sunk into the swamp of her clear anguish, she might not have been here at all.
“Sit here.”
“Yes? Ah, yes..!”
Allen got up from her chair, picked up today’s lunch set and Mirai’s choice, and sat down.
“Thank you!”
“Is this enough? I think I’m eating too little.”
“Gwa, it’s okay!”
“Eat more. If you eat like that, you will collapse later.”
Mirai didn’t know if the menu she chose was real…
Grasshopper… It doesn’t even contain meat, only nuts and lettuce.
‘No, fuck. Why are you selling this? And why is he buying this? What about the money I gave you?’
Honestly, let’s stay away from Mirai. I thought it would fall off on its own, but I was dissatisfied with the way it ate like a vegan squirrel in front of me.
Her height was somehow shorter than Chloe’s, and along with the loose sleeves of her school uniform, her slender wrists reminded Allen of things from the original world, not the current world, so she stopped interfering without realizing it.
“Eat meat, meat. If you only eat grass, you won’t grow taller. You haven’t even talked about it yet, so eat in peace. If you’re a vegetarian, I’ll apologize in advance.”
‘Oh, no… Go, thank you…’
Mirai is not a vegetarian. He rather likes a variety of foods like no one else.
But every time she ate, her memories of her past haunted her, causing her to vomit sour gastric juices as she regurgitated what she ate.
For her, her restaurants and meals are such a huge trauma.
Fearful gaze. The gaze of disgust that sees disgusting things. A gaze full of life to die as soon as possible.
No one knows how difficult it is for a young and inexperienced girl to eat while feeling all the negative stares from others, and how scary the restaurant is.
A fact that only the girls, Mirai, Mirai and Le Cane know.
Still, people do not stay in the past forever.
Just like when Mirai saw Allen, she felt a crush on her.
It is the law of a person who stayed in the past with a very trivial opportunity to move forward with difficulty.
From Mirai’s admission to her academy. And she made an effort to somehow get along with people from day one and overcome the scary restaurant by force.
Of course, the meal she ate at the cafeteria with her classmates on the first day went straight to the bathroom, but the girl still tried.
To get closer to the person you like more. So that you can stand confidently next to the person you love.
“You don’t have to eat a lot, so chew slowly and thoroughly.”
Allen cuts half of the meat with a knife to make it easier to eat and puts it on Mirai’s plate.
“Go, thank you… Um, by the way…”
“Huh.”
“I-I don’t know the name…”
Come to think of it, Allen knew Mirai before coming to her academy, but Mirai didn’t know her Allen’s name.
“Allen Mestia. Feel free to call me Allen.”
“Ah, thank you, Mr. Allen…”
“What about Allen? Just call him Allen.”
“Ah, yes… Allen…”
So Allen handed over half of her meat and indifferently watched her Mirai, who ate half of her own hungry stomach.
‘You eat well. So cute… No. Come to your senses, you asshole… You’re not a horny bastard, what… No. Cute is cute.’
“Well, I ate well…!”
“Have you eaten? Are there still leftovers?”
“Ah, that, that’s… I’m full…”
Perhaps because her stomach is as small as her petite body, Mirai was somehow proud that she ate all the meat I gave her.
Would you feel this way if you had a younger sister?
“Give me the plate.”
“Oh, no…! I-I’ll do it…!”
“Sit down. And I’ll buy you something to drink, so stay still here.”
Laying Mirai’s plate on top of her own, Allen handed it to her aunt at her restaurant, ordered two glasses of her strawberry milk, and returned to her seat.
“Come on, drink.”
“U-Um… How much is it…?”
“I’m buying it, so drink it. If you do anything, you buy it next time. Then that’s fine, right?”
She hands a glass of strawberry milk to Mirai, sticking her straw through it.
‘As expected… When I’m tired, something sweet is the best.’
She would have had a coffee or a light drink if she had been like the other day, but now Mirai’s behavior bothered her too.
For some reason, she felt like her younger sister, whom she needed to take care of.
“Tell me if you have any inconveniences in the future. And if studying is difficult, lean on me.”
“Yes yes!”
“Then I’ll go first. Then see you tomorrow.”
“Oh, good-bye, Allenni… Allen!”
