Chapter 1 – D – 15
Warrior.
Future. Resolution. Mint scent and female leaves.
Nadia.
Honor. Land tax. Belief. Dream. Article.
Sera.
Friendship. Joke. Smile. Pride. Christmas tree.
Hometown.
Apple Chocolate. Hawthorn. Poppy fields and bulls.
Ellie.
When I think about the things I’ve lost, I feel like my brain as well as my body hardens. Maybe it’s not an illusion. I try to hold on to my fading mind and think about what I will gain instead of what I have lost.
Rick.
Eyeball. Pancreas. Liver. Fingernail. Balls. An ass full of nails.
Bobby.
Teeth. Middle finger. Personality. Bright red eyes. 8 vertebrae.
Leo.
Time flies when you think about what you will gain. Although it is thick and slow like the semen flowing through the udders, the sight is clear. The fact that all of this will pass is important in itself.
That time passes. And the clear fact that this will all end. All of this becomes a platform to help you swim through the pain. Becomes a wave It becomes a milestone.
Of course, thinking about those things doesn’t make what I’ve gained or what I’ve been through. But in the rushing time, all I can do is think.
Thought. Thought. Thought. I will be released. They will pay the price They will face me too.
Whores. Rats abandoned in the sewer. A city of decay and corpses rotting in the rain. It all raises its ugly mouth and looks up at me. Please forgive me just once.
I look up at it coldly and just mutter a word. No.
You may have to repeat the same words three times. But I will never get tired of it. I will repeat it three thousand times if necessary. No. No. No.
That’s my new oath
…
…
Anyway, time is not going well today. When I realize that fact, I have no choice but to ruminate on the past and chew the cud. Times full of pain. Memories where a sense of humiliation hotly squeezes the lower half of the body.
But alone is lonely. Pain. It’s miserable. So you need an audience. Sympathy. Sigh. Laugh at least. For me, there should be at least one such little thing. If there is no response, the brain dies.
So I took you You who have been looking at all of this. Beautiful, ugly, omnipotent, incompetent, you are used to hearing about my failures.
Consent is not required. My throat is already open. All that remains is to pour out.
So let’s start the story now.
I was born in the town of Laurenheim. It’s an ugly, shitty town. Like my dick.
There are only three things worth seeing in this village. Mint flowers bloom on the hills in summer. Sera, a magical genius who is the pride of the town. And my childhood friend Ellie.
The third was chosen on a very subjective basis. Ellie. Black hair Ellie. The town’s nickname is Muddy Ellie. But to me she was a dandelion. A yellow flower that suddenly blooms out of a hardened heart.
Because of Ellie, I lived under the illusion that I loved this town for many years. The smell of cow dung pervasive in the air, the predetermined future of being a farmer. Even Sera, the genius wizard who only tickles me unnecessarily. When I felt fed up with all of that, Ellie came up to me and smiled. Then I forgot everything about her and laughed after her.
If it wasn’t for that kid, I would have left the village long ago. Ellie was the shackles blocking my dreams and the only happiness in my life. Well, there were no major complaints there. At least the love he had for him was sincere. Like this, she thought it wouldn’t be bad to grow old with her.
However, when I turned 20, an incident happened that even Eli couldn’t stop.
One day, an unknown female knight came to our village. She came to the village and demanded to bring her village chief. She identified herself as Nadia, the knight of the capital, and told a strange story in front of all the villagers.
The demon king, awakened after a hundred years, is disturbing the world. Hundreds of knights have already lost their lives trying to kill him, and the situation is so desperate that the emperor is drafting the surrender document.
However, even at times like this, hope existed, and that is the prophecy handed down from generation to generation in the Empire. In the prophecy, at the time of chaos when the resurrected demon king disturbs the world, a young man in a village where mint flowers bloom will cut off the demon king’s head and save the world. She said that this was the village the prophecy spoke of, and that one of the village’s young men would be its hero.
The prophecy left no mention of the young man, but there was little disagreement about who it was. Because there was only one young man in this run-down town. But the problem was that one of them was me.
Until then, I was a country boy who had never caught a single rat, let alone a monster. However, as soon as the female knight saw me, she immediately started screaming that I was the savior who would save the world from the abyss.
It was nonsense that no sane person would ever be fooled by. But at the time, I was overly excited about seeing the article for the first time, so instead of doubting her words, I was glad that I had a reason to leave this fucking town.
Then her unfounded confidence bloomed. Still, I’m pretty good-looking and have guts. Come to think of it, since I was little, the adults in my neighborhood used to evaluate me as someone who could do anything. Should I say it’s some kind of aura? That it flows Of course, since Sarah started learning magic, she hadn’t heard of such a thing.
It wasn’t even a matter of making a decision when those thoughts dominated my head.
That day, I immediately packed up and prepared to leave. Then, Sarah, the genius wizard who teased me every time for no reason. The nasty guy followed me and said he would go with me. They said that they would need their own magic to defeat the demon king or something. I said do whatever you want. It was refreshing to see the guy who always pretended to be proud and ignored me now clinging to me. He had no reason to refuse.
The problem was Ellie. At first, of course, it stopped me. Don’t go Even if it’s not me, there are many people who will save the world.
“But Ellie. The prophecy said I’m the only one who can save the world. It’s selfish for me to stay in this corner of the country to be comfortable alone in this situation.”
“Don’t you just want to get out of here?”
It was a straight line. But I didn’t bother.
“It’s not like that. I just want to save the world.”
“But you’ve never even touched a weapon.”
Ellie knew me very well. She held her hand as she struggled to resist the flood of facts.
“Ellie. Don’t worry. It’ll be fine. I’ll be back as a great knight.”
I deliberately recited a cheesy line. Sera pretended to vomit from behind, but he didn’t care.
Then Ellie looked me in the eye and whispered.
“It’s enough just to be my own knight like this.”
When I think about it now, it was a moving statement. But at the time, I thought it was too childish.
Ellie, who was looking at me like that, slowly nodded her head as if she realized she couldn’t stop it any longer. Then she said something shocking.
“Then I’ll follow. I’m not as good as Sera, but I’m a wizard.”
“What? But…”
“The more wizards, the better. Isn’t that fine, Sarah?”
“Huh? Huh? Uh…Well, it doesn’t matter. There’s going to be at least one person to help! I’ll give you special permission.”
Sara replied calmly, and I looked at Eli in silence. But she couldn’t bear to say no.
In the end, I hit the road with the three of them. Nadia taught me swordsmanship in her spare time, and Sera, like a genius wizard, assisted me with various magics. And Ellie supported her heart whenever I was weak, even though her magic skills were a little behind.
After a year or so, our party has become quite colorful. Ellie’s role was still ambiguous, and I also had some shortcomings, but I had grown enough to stand up to the Demon King’s army.
Just before entering the Demon King’s territory, Nadia presented an idea. Right now, the combination of these four is fine, but how about adding a few more party members? I saw no reason to object, and Sera put forward the odd condition that as long as it wasn’t a woman, she was fine. Ellie couldn’t say anything because she had actually lost a lot of her voice at our party.
That’s how we got three more party members. A good archer, Rick. Prestigious cleric Bobby. And Leo, a swordsman who made a name for himself in the mercenary world. By defeating the Demon King’s minions, they proved their worth and we gradually moved toward the Demon King’s Castle. When he defeated the Minotaur, who was said to be the second strongest of the Four Heavenly Kings, it felt like victory was just around the corner.
…
Okay.
I expected it, but these are the happy memories.
The story starts to break down from here.
In a very vulgar and nasty way.
