342 – Control (4)
“Do you want me to tell you how to rule Shivar?”
Rod, who was leisurely drinking tea, opened his eyes and asked.
His face was full of doubts.
Currently, he was leisurely playing in the president’s office in the main building, not in his residence. It’s not a joke, it’s real.
As I explained so far, even if he were the president, he didn’t have much power. Instead, the authority is ridiculously high.
So, unless it’s a report for show, I don’t often discuss things with professors. If there is one, it is just an event.
“Yes. It’s just as you said.”
“I don’t understand why you’re asking me that?”
Rod asked, putting down his teacup. The person who came to the president’s office to provide consultation rather than consultation was none other than Dis.
He also has eyes and ears, so he knows about the rumors going around at the academy.
Moreover, if the center of the rumor is a famous accident, he has no choice but to pay even more attention.
“You are the one who chose Sivar. I heard that not only you, but also professors chose Sivar as their assistant?”
“That’s right.”
“I thought there was a certain number, but it seems that wasn’t the case?”
“··· ···”
Dis bitterly smiled at the words that hit the nail on the head his. The response is that there is nothing to say.
As Rod said, I believed that I would be able to properly control Sivar. I have also discussed it with other professors.
But after watching Sivar for several days, numerous concerns rose. First of all, I can’t figure it out.
It definitely seemed like he was going to do something, but I couldn’t quite predict what he was going to do.
If I could at least anticipate it, I would be able to respond in advance. I realized that through my last observation.
No matter what conditions are given, Sivar will engage in behavior outside of the standards. Even Marlboro, my close friend, was liberated right away.
“······If I make a mistake, not only Sibar students but also new students will suffer a lot of damage, so I came here despite my rudeness.”
“Hmm. How many years has it been since you worked at the Academy? I understand it was around the same time as when I became president.”
“It’s been about 10 years.”
“10 years. That’s quite a long time.”
Academy professors are far from the so-called iron rice bowl. This is because there are complex reasons.
Because the professor’s personal circumstances are often intertwined with the political issues of his/her her country.
Therefore, having worked for more than 10 years means that a professor is close to a veteran.
“President. While I was a professor, I observed many students. I also taught blind students and students with mental problems.”
“Hmm.”
“But something is different about Sivar students. They clearly follow the rules, but they use areas outside the rules to their advantage.”
Let’s say that acting according to the rules is legal, and acting against the rules is illegal.
Sibar freely uses ‘expedients’ that go between legal and illegal.
When combat was limited, she used water torture and bomb vests, and in this exercise, she even set up an ambush inside a lake.
Cases such as water torture and bomb vests were so clearly morally wrong that they were designated as new regulations.
“What worries you is that Sivar might get into an accident while performing her duties as an assistant teacher?”
“That’s true, but I’m worried that Sivar will escape the professor’s control in some subtle way.”
“I see what you mean.”
Rod listened to Dis’s explanation and nodded his head. I think I know roughly what he’s worried about.
Contrary to his fierce appearance, Sivar has an extraordinary head. Not only does she have a quick mind, but she also has a talent for screwing people over.
Maybe it’s because he lives in the wild outside of civilization, or maybe it’s just his nature, but he’s a master of expediency.
What Dis is currently worried about is using his talent to escape the professor’s control and control the new students as he pleases.
If this happens, the professor’s prestige will be lost, and in the worst case, unity may be scattered like bean powder.
‘I don’t think Sivar would do that.’
But Shivar won’t do that. I can be sure of this.
It’s because Dis doesn’t know much yet, but Shivar has a very good heart, contrary to rumors.
The type of person who strives to repay favors unconditionally and doubles down on grudges. The relationship is clear.
Above all, he has a personality that does not make enemies. I preferred an amicable relationship unless hostility was revealed first.
Marlboro and other professors are well aware of this, so they are doing well.
Even though I commit all kinds of misdeeds during practice, my relationship itself is pretty good.
“Anyway, why are you asking me that? There must be someone close to Sivar.”
“Fact…”
Dis blurted out his words as he watched carefully. It is an unspoken sign that it is okay to speak.
Rod held out his hand as if it was okay. Dis also spoke with a slightly nervous expression.
“······It seemed like the president had a tendency to protect Sivar students, knowingly or unknowingly.”
“Why?”
“I looked into disciplinary records and penalty points records. There were quite a few unclear details.”
Rod nodded his head. If that’s the case, I understand.
In fact, whether Rod knew it or not, he was almost openly protecting Sivar.
In the first place, when Sivar first arrived at the Academy, the person who took him with him was Rod.
Rod also helped me with formal admission, and also helped me with other minor details.
In fact, it is the same as taking on the role of a parent. They just don’t say it out loud, but everyone who knows knows.
“I helped.” But unfortunately, I don’t know Shivar very well.”
“Umm…”
“If it’s not possible, you can sell my name. If you don’t listen, I can say that I will personally beat you with a cane.”
“······Is that barely enough?”
Dis asked with a puzzled expression. The tone is as if he is saying something.
Rod seemed to have guessed that reaction as well, smiling and picking up his teacup. It’s a relaxed attitude.
He then drank the remaining tea in his cup and spoke in a voice filled with strange emotions.
“No. That won’t work. I don’t listen well.”
“··· ···”
“It would be easier if you gave up. You can control the direction, but you can’t control the speed.”
Lastly, Rod gave some very important advice.
“Make sure you don’t hit anyone at full speed and you’ll be fine.”
******
As time passed, I officially became a teaching assistant. I said I became a teaching assistant, but I haven’t introduced myself to the new students yet.
Even when I was a freshman, teaching assistants were not introduced separately. It just naturally melted in.
Moreover, just because you become a teaching assistant, does that mean you immediately help new students? That wasn’t it.
A teaching assistant has a lot more work to do than you might think. A representative example of these is cleaning the training room.
“Starting from this school year, access to the forest will be unlocked. Therefore, you and I must investigate the forest where practice will take place.”
An Eastern medical scientist and professor explained. His pure white beard gave him the image of an immortal.
If Yeonhwa Lee is in charge of medicine and first aid in the second year, this is the person in the first year.
“But because the forest has been empty for so long, we don’t know what animals live there or what dangerous insects live there.”
“So we have to get rid of them.”
“Exactly.”
Kara, who became my class assistant, spoke and the professor nodded her head. I know roughly what you mean.
Now, not only Kara but also people who will be teaching assistants for other classes are gathered around me.
Since all classes must use the forest where practice will take place, teaching assistants from all classes gather.
‘Isn’t this the way the professor of each class leads the teaching assistants?’
The teaching assistants in the same class as me were Kara and Karasu. Luna fell separately.
When Luna was in a different class from me, she was very sad, and I don’t know why she was sad.
Still, I think I am in the same class as a familiar face. It’s Erica, the pink-haired priest.
‘I thought Erica would come this way, but it’s surprising.’
Since she is a member of the Gaia Church, she should be easy to control, but I’m not sure. Maybe it’s because she has Karas.
Anyway, for now I just have to do my job. I followed Professor Insol.
“Is there anyone among these people who can’t touch bugs?”
The professor with a generous look looked at us and asked. This question was probably asked of someone else rather than me.
Kara grew up in a harsh environment, so she has a good resistance to bugs, but Karas doesn’t know.
At this, everyone turned their attention to Karas. Karas, whose eyes were focused, answered with his characteristic clear eyes.
“Don’t worry. When he was incarcerated, his life was extended by eating rats and cockroaches.”
“Uh… I understand…”
The professor was greatly embarrassed when an unexpected answer came out. The pupils shook wildly.
I can’t do that anymore. There are a mountain of surprises ahead.
“Shivar.”
“Huh?”
“Have you ever eaten a cockroach?”
“I ate something the size of my palm. It’s savory.”
“Hmm. I didn’t really like it. Are cockroaches grown in nature any different?”
“Do we really need to talk about that topic?”
Kara cut off the conversation between me and Karas. The offended face is a bonus.
Having grown up in the desert, she has probably eaten bugs many times. Still, that facial expression.
I definitely enjoyed the topic a bit. It’s funny that we communicate so well.
Kara is like this, so what about her tutor? Unfortunately, she was in the lead so I couldn’t look at her expression.
“Oh, here’s a good example. Guys, do you see that bug hanging on the tree over there?”
After a while, the professor looked angry and spoke to us. I looked in the direction he pointed.
I saw something pink in the center of the tree, and I started without realizing it.
When I think of pink, only bad memories come to mind. It’s okay if you just think about it, but it’s strange when you look at the colors.
“I see it. What is that?”
“It’s a very bad bug. It’s called a cicada, and it’s poisonous and causes a lot of damage to trees. It’s a bug that must be dealt with because it will also cause damage to students.”
Am I a person who likes explanations? The professor began to explain various things about bugs.
I heard that Kara and Karas are just like that, but not me.
I walked quietly while the professor explained.
“Huh? Where are you going…”
“Yum.”
And I put something that looked like a Chinese cicada on a tree into my mouth. It’s a bad bug, so we have to deal with it quickly.
I also had a taste of it. I’m curious about the taste because I’ve never seen it in the Forest of Chaos.
“Mumbling.”
“··· ···”
“Well. Two!”
It’s just bitter and not really tasty. I spit it out right on the ground.
At least slugs are savory, it tastes like snot rolled up.
“That…Student?”
“Huh?”
“That’s poisonous…”
The professor asked, pointing his finger at me. His shaking eyes represented his feelings
Come to think of it, this is my first(?) Time with these people. It’s natural to be so surprised.
“We will see a lot of things like that in the future.”
Kara gave the professor comfort, not comfort.
“What does that taste like?”
Karas This crazy guy asked a crazy question.
“The taste of a lump of booger.”
I don’t think I’m completely normal as I answered that.
“How do you know that? Could it be…”
“Shut up.”
