## Chapter 1059 – The Inquisitive One
Anyway, I spent time drinking with Gary Copson.
Even though he loves booze, he’s still incredibly weak, and his face turned red in no time.
“Damn, this is delicious! How can it be so good!”
But he seems to know it himself, so he focuses more on eating than drinking. He keeps saying he doesn’t know when he’ll get to eat like this again, diligently stuffing his face with meat-heavy dishes.
What a true adventurer.
An adventurer must always eat as much as possible when they have the chance. Because you never know when you’ll starve again.
“Cough… So, what are you planning to do now, Barbarian?”
“I’ve mostly taken care of things. I’ll head back to the capital when I’m done.”
“You just go to the capital like it’s nothing.”
“I have a really big house there, too.”
“Damn, I’m starting to get really jealous. Ugh! Ugh…! Ugh! My stomach! My stomaaaach!!!”
This guy is so funny when he acts up. Every time I see him, I can’t help but laugh.
“Hehehe, you’re such a drama queen. Ah, you son of a bitch. Then stop eating.”
“I’m not talking about my stomach. I’m just saying I’m jealous in a roundabout way.”
“You’re so honest.”
“You have to be honest to avoid getting stabbed in the back, right?”
“For once, this guy’s making sense… Yeah. If you live honestly, you eliminate one reason to get stabbed.”
This is from my experience, but if you try to deceive people maliciously or try to scam them with a dishonest heart, you’re bound to get stabbed someday.
In fact, beyond just getting stabbed, you might even get completely dismembered or vaporized.
Just look at me.
I’ve lived by dismembering all the bastards who harbored malice towards me and tried to deceive me. Just weighing those dismembered pieces would easily exceed one ton.
That was the weight of justice and fusion Confucianism… My fusion Confucianism became stronger as it became heavier.
ㅡGulp, gulp.
“Kuh!”
Copson, who had swallowed a mouthful of meat along with his drink, made a sound of refreshment.
“By the way… Barbarian. Did you really kill that Great Demon? I’m asking because it sounds like bullshit. Did you really kill such a huge monster?”
“Hey, hey. You saw this, right?”
I immediately drew Vihal from my waist and unleashed the Sword Flame.
ㅡWhoosh!!
“With this, damn it. Great Demons and everything else dies. Anyone who gets hit by this is screwed.”
“It’s amazing no matter how many times I see it. Is that the enhanced aura?”
“Yeah. It’s a technique that’s a step up from regular aura. Even decent knights can’t do it.”
“Indeed… If you get hit by that, even a Great Demon would be screwed.”
Copson stroked his protruding chin and said in a serious tone.
“It’s not just that it could be screwed, it was screwed.”
“As expected of a Paladin. Even a Baron? I wouldn’t be surprised if you become a really big lord later on.”
“Hehehe, it’s not just that I might, I will. When I become a lord, come to my territory. I can at least take care of that favor you asked for last time.”
Last time, when I told this guy I had become a Baron, he made a fuss and asked me to make him a platoon leader in the territory army or city guard, trying to get a job through nepotism.
We’re friends, aren’t we?
I can grant that kind of favor anytime.
“Hehehe! I’m glad you haven’t forgotten my request! Yes! This is the Barbarian’s true heart! So kind and righteous that it’s dazzling to even look at!”
“Look at this guy flip his assessment.”
“I’ll be happily waiting for that day! As long as the Barbarian doesn’t screw up, I don’t have to worry about my future!”
“What’s the point of having friends? But if you do your job like shit, I’ll fire you.”
Of course, you have to be capable.
“No! How can you say that!”
Copson suddenly shouted in surprise.
“Have you forgotten that I saved the Barbarian in the Alaune battle!”
“But if you think about it, I saved you too.”
Copson was the one who suggested we go in the first place. We were attacked by Dryads in the middle, and I dragged him along and saved him when he was about to give up. Still, I can never forget that he saved me afterward.
“Ehh…”
“Anyway, so. What are you going to do after eating all this?”
“Well… I’m not really a person with plans. I’ll probably go gambling with my clan members.”
“Seriously?”
Birds of a feather flock together; was it a gambler clan instead of an adventurer clan? No, if you think about it coldly, most adventurers are addicted to gambling.
Copson is relatively normal.
Originally, adventurer bastards are full of guys who can’t come to their senses, so they waste a lot of money on that kind of thing.
“No, no. I’m not joking. I don’t gamble for life or death anymore. It’s just a hobby, so it’s not that serious.”
“You’re full of shit. A mosquito doesn’t stop sucking blood, you know. I saw you lose dozens of silver right in front of me back then.”
“Just thinking about that time makes me want to throw up. Of course, I’ve graduated now. I’m not the same person I was back then. If I hadn’t graduated, would I be able to wear such decent equipment?”
That’s true, but.
I couldn’t believe this crazy gambling addict when he said it was just a hobby. He’s definitely going to go and cause a ruckus again and lose all his money.
“As always, you’re just good at talking. I thought it would be amazing since this guy made a clan, but it was a gambler clan.”
“Hehehe, you could say that.”
“Ah, but speaking of which.”
“What is it?”
Suddenly, that came to mind.
“Exactly what kind of guys are in the clan you made? You said they’re your friends.”
“Well, I don’t know if I can call them all friends. My only true friend is the Barbarian.”
“Don’t bullshit me.”
“Ahem. Anyway, the clan is just a clan in name only. It’s just a collection of adventurers I met while living in Isvant. Of course, I made it with my connections, but it’s not like we’re that close.”
So it’s just a group of business partners.
“Isn’t that right? Still, if you’re a D-rank adventurer, you have a certain level of trust. When you work with those guys, you get used to it, and you end up working together again. That’s how this clan was formed. Well, it’s convenient because there are skilled people gathered together.”
“Don’t you have a headquarters or anything?”
“Are you talking about a gambling den?”
“A gathering of crazy bastards.”
Still, there’s nothing wrong with gathering like that. Originally, gathering a large number of heads is the best way to protect your rights.
“But stop thinking about enlisting. You’ll really die. Prepare to run away when things get tough, like an adventurer.”
I ate with Gary Copson while giving him that warning. Along with the warning, I told him everything about the demons and heretics that had happened so far. And about the monsters from another world and the dungeons, and what happened in Isvant this time.
I can tell this guy anything, and if he knows about this, he’ll know how much of a crisis this world is in.
“Hearing those stories makes this world feel too dangerous.”
“It was always dangerous. So don’t go to dungeons recklessly just because they’ve been discovered. You’ll really die if a monster comes out.”
When I was a newbie adventurer, my view of the world was still small. But now that I’m so strong, my vision has become much wider.
“I’ll keep that in mind… But wait? How much does the Barbarian eat? Eating so much…”
“What? Ah.”
I looked at the pile of plates next to me.
I use a lot of strength, so my food intake is now incomparable to what it used to be.
“When you get to my level, you eat a lot.”
“You’re changing beyond imagination. You’ve literally become a monster.”
“Your chin is a monster too.”
“No!!! Why is my chin coming up here!!!”
ㅡThump!
Enraged, Copson placed his palms on the table and pretended to dig the ground with his chin, moving his head like a bulldozer.
“Ah, you son of a bitch. That’s so funny.”
“Apologize right now!”
“This guy’s completely drunk. Hey, are you full now? Let’s go.”
“Alright.”
He ate as much as he could, and Copson looked full, so I got up right away. I paid and came outside.
“You spend money so naturally. If I become as rich as the Barbarian, I’ll definitely do that too.”
“Make a lot of money.”
My sense of money is different from what it used to be.
Coming to Isvant makes me think of the old days. My life has changed a lot since then.
“Anyway, that was a good meal. I’ll never forget this day until the day I die.”
“Yeah. Cherish that gratitude for the rest of your life. Huh? Then a warm light will be born in your heart.”
“Your bullshit is still the same. Anyway, I’ll definitely do that. Then, well…”
“Wait a minute.”
“Hmm?”
Since we met, I treated him to a big meal.
But this is nothing.
I looked at Copson. His armor is decent, but his sword seems a bit old. It doesn’t look like a very good sword in the first place.
“Isn’t it time to change your sword?”
“Sword?”
“I’ll buy you a sword. Let’s go.”
I can give Copson a sword as a gift.
“No!!! What is going on!!!”
Surprised by those words, Copson grabbed his head and jumped as high as he could, about 50cm. I’ve only seen people jump more than a few meters in surprise, so seeing Copson’s ordinary jump was very refreshing.
“I’ll buy you a really good one.”
“This is crazy!!! How much money did you make to be able to buy a sword for your friend, Barbarian!!”
“I made a lot. Let’s go.”
So I headed to the street with the blacksmiths with Copson. This must be what it means to have good friends. As a result of having a friend like me, Copson gained a great advantage.
You need to use a good sword to survive properly in this dangerous world.
Soon we arrived at the blacksmith, and I said to Copson.
“Pick one.”
“Your voice was so cool just now.”
Copson was moved and began to look around the store busily. I also took a quick look, and the smells coming from here and there made me feel good. Strangely, the smell of a blacksmith makes me feel good.
Come to think of it, I don’t wear armor these days either. It doesn’t fit my body well. I asked the Saintess to commission a new one last time, but it seems to take a long time, so there’s no news yet.
It’ll be finished when I go back after finishing my work, right?
But making Saint Celestial Armor is a bit too much.
“I’ll take this one!!!”
Soon Copson grabbed a sword that looked pretty good and shouted.
He looked very happy holding the sword.
“Hehehe, go ahead and take that one. How much is it?”
“They say it’s 18 silver! To be honest, I was really hesitant to choose it, but it wouldn’t be polite to choose something shitty when the Paladin Baron is paying!”
“You bastard! Put it in your pocket right now!”
“Oh!”
I immediately took out my wallet and paid.
“Owner. Give me that one.”
“Alright.”
And I came outside with Copson, who was gaping.
“This is what wealth and fame are all about. Do you feel it?”
“From today onwards, the Barbarian is my sun. Can I call you Sun Barbarian from now on?”
“Just call me normally, you son of a bitch.”
But seeing Copson acting like this makes me think of Lina. Ah, come to think of it, there was Lina. I said I’d buy her a meal, but I have to see her to do that. I should stop by the Adventurer’s Guild tomorrow.
“Well, I’m planning to stay in Isvant a little longer, so I’ll buy you another meal next time. I’ve said it a few times already, but take care of yourself if you don’t want to die.”
“Hehehe, I guess I should call you Mom Barbarian now. Well, don’t worry. Didn’t we survive even in that crazy jungle?”
“Hehehe, that’s true.”
I don’t think this guy will die.
“Anyway, that was a really good meal. I’ll try to use this sword as roughly as possible.”
“Killing without mercy is our motto as adventurers.”
“Isn’t the Barbarian a Paladin?”
“I still have my C-rank adventurer ID.”
I put it somewhere in the house, so it’ll come out if I look for it.
So I parted ways with Copson. It was really nice to have a meal with this guy after a long time. It’s always nice to see a friend after a long time.
