530 – A Shining Diploma – 4
The day has finally arrived.
The day of miracles that seemed like it would never come has come.
“Three years are just a moment compared to the life ahead, but that moment will remain in your memories forever.”
I quietly wiped my eyes while listening to the principal’s speech. Usually, teachers shed tears during graduation ceremonies, but even I, the holder of an honorary teacher degree, ended up shedding tears. Is this the power of the name teacher?
Of course it’s bullshit. While most teachers shed tears because of the regret of letting go of the students they have taught, I shed tears because of the relief of letting go of the burden I had been carrying on my shoulders. Even with empty words, it cannot be said that they are similar tears.
But what does that matter? Anyone who knows the pain and sorrow I have experienced over the past three years cannot criticize my tears. Everyone will applaud my dedication and sacrifice.
“Memories can be a stepping stone and a driving force on an unknown path. The three years you spent at the Academy will have been an invaluable experience in your life.”
The principal must have been feeling the same way, and at some point he continued his speech in a calm and gentle voice.
It’s an understandable reaction. Through this graduation ceremony, foreign time bombs such as Lutis, Laterer, and Tanian will return to their homeland. It’s even weirder if you don’t feel at peace. After the graduation ceremony, I guess I’ll celebrate by drinking wine alone.
“That experience may dramatically change your life, or it may remain as just a memory. It is up to you how you utilize the experience that everyone has equally.”
The atmosphere of the graduates changed slightly at the principal’s formal words. To be more specific, the atmosphere of commoner students has changed.
‘It will really change.’
For noble students, the academy is nothing more than an ordinary preliminary social venue and a transit point that everyone else passes through.
However, for commoner students, the academy was an opportunity to build close relationships with nobles and prove their abilities. If you have an academy diploma, you can be treated well no matter where you go, so it’s like an opportunity to get ahead as much as possible as a commoner.
To put it bluntly, who would live better: a commoner who normally does farming or business or a commoner who throws himself into the administration or military with an academy diploma? Unless you have considerable talent and fortune, the latter is overwhelming.
“I hope that the experience in your hands will make you more beautiful.”
After saying those words, the principal bowed his head slightly.
To pay tribute to graduates who have become members of society rather than just students. Please pray for those young members of society to be less hurt and happier.
The graduates, who were now thrown into the wilds of society, seemed to have noticed the principal’s warm heart and responded with warm applause.
…
‘The wild is shit.’
Most of them will live a peaceful unemployed life as children of noble families. It’s a utopia that I desperately desire but can never reach.
Of course, nobles who are far from the right to succession will have to find their own jobs, but they won’t be like me.
“Then, next, there will be an apology from the student council vice president.”
Anyway, right after the principal finished his short speech and stepped down, the vice principal proceeded with the next step.
In fact, all the formalities of the graduation ceremony were over, so I quietly closed my eyes.
‘Great job, me.’
I ended these hellish three years safely.
I somehow overcame the situation even though I didn’t even know the original work.
‘I hope this never happens again.’
Three years at the Academy is enough time to complete even the longest work.
If ‘the academy is part 1 and after graduation is part 2!’ If the same situation were to unfold, I would turn my back on the world and become a priest of the eternal blue sky.
Really.
Members who were dirty together and would like to never see them again.
However, it is true that we have developed good and bad feelings over the past three years, so we gathered in the club room for the last time and said goodbye.
“I’m sad to think this will be the last time.”
“If there is a beginning, there must be an end. Don’t take it to heart too much.”
I responded calmly to Lyutis’ words. In fact, strictly speaking, our meeting was a meeting that should not have even begun.
“That’s true, but it’s a pity that I won’t see you again forever. At least if we stayed in the same country, I could go see you.”
Lyutis’s smiling face showed a strange bitterness.
It’s surprising. I thought he didn’t have a human heart because he usually showed an excessively generous attitude, but it turns out he was a guy with a certain sensitivity.
“More than anything, I regret parting ways with my advisor.”
“What?”
But regardless of my sensitivity, I cannot understand the bullshit I just said.
What kind of enmity have you formed with me that you don’t want to break up with? I only held out because there was a three-year time limit. If I had stayed with you indefinitely, I would have gone crazy a long time ago.
“As a knight, if you can live with the greatest sword on the continent, you can gain great enlightenment in itself.”
“…I see.”
I was finally able to calm down after the explanation that followed. It wasn’t a relationship of resentment, but simple respect.
I was also worried that I had evolved into darkness without my knowledge. It’s no wonder that wizards are thrilled to see Trixie.
‘It’s a bit disgusting to think that way.’
And it’s a little bit embarrassing. It’s only recently that I was given the title of best swordsman on the continent, but the b*stard who respects me has been doing that shit for a while—
“I will never forget the care and teachings I received over the past three years. Thank you, advisor.”
Later, I shook off my thoughts when Laterer opened his mouth and said thank you.
“That’s too grand a greeting. I didn’t even teach you.”
“Teaching is not limited to academics.”
Unlike a certain redhead, the corners of his mouth went up because he was speaking normally.
Honestly, if I had known that I had shed tears in the name of consideration, it would have been right for me to drop out, but it would also have been difficult for those who had entered the Imperial Academy on their own to drop out. I can fully understand it now.
“A relationship that could not have continued originally has been connected, so it must be a relationship that Enen forever. Even when I return to my home country, I will not forget the torture.”
After saying that, Laterer bowed his head to Trixie as well.
“As a wizard, receiving Majong’s teachings was an honor that I will never again have in my life.”
“I am also happy to be able to teach the prince of Yuven, a country renowned as a magic powerhouse.”
In response to the polite greeting, Trixie smiled softly and nodded.
By the way, is it because of my mood? Since it is the last greeting, all we see is a heartwarming scene without any spicy flavor.
‘I’m like this usually.’
I had this thought for a moment, but I quickly shook it off. These are things that caused me stress not just because of their words or actions, but because of their very existence. Even if he had shown correct remarks and serious actions over the past three years, it would have been annoying.
So for now, let’s enjoy this moment. Anyway, as long as the end is good, wouldn’t the pain of three years be glorified someday?
“Okay, it’s over. Unless you’re naked in the middle of winter, there won’t be any minor illness.”
In the meantime, I pretended not to see Tanian, who was giving the last gift and blessings to his members.
“Third place. Would you like to leave one last piece of chess before you go?”
“You’re being sincere, saying you’ll add one more loss until the end.”
Let’s just say we didn’t even see Laterr, who was unable to break his undefeated streak.
It seems like he achieved more than just winning chess.

After the graduation ceremony, he sat blankly on the bench and watched the graduates returning to their hometowns one by one.
I also have to go back to the Olrid family, which I miss, but I just can’t move.
‘Is it a dream?’
Then he pinched his cheek with his hand.
‘It hurts.’
First of all, it’s not a dream.
‘It’s not a dream.’
As soon as I realized that this situation was not a dream but reality, the corner of my mouth twitched.
Can’t believe it. I never imagined that I would receive this kind of luck upon graduating from the academy.
‘I am the imperial educator.’
I am still dumbfounded because it is an honor I never dreamed of. Is it okay for someone like me to teach noble members of the royal family at the imperial education center?
With that in mind, I looked down at the letter of recommendation handed to me by the Minister of Inspection and Inspection right after the graduation ceremony.
“Charles Allid. Your true ability is more than the bravery you show on the battlefield, it is your keen eye for accurately understanding your opponent. And your attentiveness to suit your opponent’s level.”
“Wow, that’s too much to say!”
“No. This is the conclusion I came to after watching you for three years. If you think it’s too much, trust my eyes and accept it.”
I was moved to tears again by the words of His Excellency the Minister of Inspector General who valued me higher than myself. I was evaluated as an excellent student, but I never thought I would receive such an evaluation from none other than the Minister of Inspection and Inspection.
“I have experience dealing with the royal family, so I guess I can deal with the royal family as well.”
I had no idea that the experience of suffering from rheumatism during the three-year practical exam would come back to me like this.
“Her Highness the Crown Princess is still young, so there won’t be anything to do right now, but she will get busy as the years go by. In the meantime, hone her her skills her her further her.”
“Yes! I will keep that in mind!”
“Let’s look forward to it.”
When I thought of His Excellency the Minister of Inspector General who disappeared with those words, I felt like crying again.
‘Father, mother…’
I succeeded.
I also reached a place that I would never have been able to reach if I had tried normally.
‘It is the honor of the family.’
I roughly rubbed my eyes, which were getting hotter, and put the recommendation letter in my pocket.
It is not my personal honor to become an imperial education officer. The proud name of the Ollid family also rises.
And maybe, just maybe, depending on my efforts, a new title may be added to the Ollid family.
‘Let’s cheer up.’
That’s why I made a resolution with a determined mindset. Thanks to the consideration of His Excellency the Minister of Inspector General, I have stood at an overwhelming starting line compared to others, and the reward for that is to go further.
‘…Thank you.’
I also felt grateful to Lyutis, who would soon return to Armain. To be honest, if it weren’t for him, he wouldn’t have even caught the attention of the Minister.
The process was terrible, but the result was good.
