150 – Final Thoughts
Hello, everyone. It’s finally over.
I said I’d finish it at the end of January, but it dragged on until February. I was so fond of the work that I couldn’t easily stop. But now, I really have to go.
As I mentioned in the competition afterword, I’m enlisting soon. Because of that, even though I could have written more, I had to wrap it up in around 150 chapters.
Having to finish within a limited time, I think there were a lot of shortcomings in the middle and later parts. Planted foreshadowing, things I had jotted down intending to use later, ended up being left as MacGuffins. There were also parts I had to write differently from the planned plot. This is purely my lack of ability, and I have nothing to say. I’m sorry. ㅠㅠ
There are more behind-the-scenes stories too. Like, I initially conceived it as a pure love story, or that Adora wasn’t planned as a heroine, and so on.
Especially, I struggled a lot until right before serialization about whether to go with pure love or a harem. I figured that having only one heroine in a desert island story would be better from a narrative perspective. But in the end, I went with a harem.
A regret lingers, wondering what might have been had I gone the route of pure, innocent love. Yet, if I had written that pure love story, perhaps I would have also lamented the absence of the harem’s playful banter and bickering.
Besides these, there were other minor issues, but regardless, I have brought it to completion. The peculiar feeling that washes over me with the ending of each work is something I still haven’t grown accustomed to. To all the readers who stayed with me until the very end, and to everyone who offered encouragement and support, I offer my deepest gratitude.
My next work is yet undecided. I mentioned before that I would write a TS live-streaming story, but whether that will be my immediate next project remains to be seen. However, I have already laid the groundwork for it. Consider this merely a declaration of my intent to write it ‘someday.’
There are many other things I desire to write. Especially the cyberpunk genre—I have every intention of tackling it, but I keep finding myself writing other works in the meantime.
Until I am discharged from service, this pen name will be temporarily set aside, but that doesn’t mean I will be taking a break from writing altogether. While serving in the military, I will be brainstorming in my spare moments, slowly building up a stockpile of ideas.
Writing this afterword has already brought us to this point.
Dear readers, it’s time to say farewell.
Thank you for your love and support of <Stranded with Enemy Female Soldiers on a Deserted Island>.
I hope you receive much luck in the coming new year of 2026. Until then, I sincerely wish you happiness, good health, and peace.
If fate allows, I will greet you again with New Year’s greetings in 2027.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
AiBi
