12. Skaven Nono
This great wizard, whose plans I had thwarted and who had nearly had his thoughts exposed, appeared smaller than the other high-ranking orc warriors, but that was only in comparison to the towering and mighty orcs. At the moment he was roaring in fury and lunging at me, the sensation he brought was still one of “colossal intimidation” and rage.
However, this time he was bound to miscalculate. Underestimating me, this “little shrimp,” was no issue since I was indeed weak, but to act against me was sheer folly.
Kephiel, who had nearly reached her limit with the orcs’ lofty disdain, lifted her foot just as the great wizard was about to pounce on me. The table in front of us was kicked away and smashed into the great wizard’s face! Even though orcs are robust, they are still flesh and blood; the heavy wooden table shattered with a loud crack, and two streams of blood gushed uncontrollably from the great wizard’s nose, contrasting sharply with his increasingly green face.
Next, the spotlight had to shift to Kephiel.
Amidst the astonishment of the other orcs, Kephiel showed no fear after doing all this. She spoke in a deep voice, “We don’t need to incite any orc; we are just here to resolve the conflict. But if any of you wish to strike first…”
Kephiel elegantly turned, her gaze sweeping over all the orcs present, “Then I wouldn’t mind changing methods to ‘thoroughly’ resolve this conflict.”
Relying on brute force was the worst plan; it wouldn’t just fail to resolve the current conflict between orcs and elves, but it would also put me and Kephiel in danger in the Austro-Hungarian capital. However, since Kephiel’s words sounded really cool and fitting, I chose not to stop her.
Moreover, facing these orcs who revered strength and hierarchy, a moderate display of violence might even have a positive effect.
“Despicable, despicable human!”
Covering his nose, the great wizard staggered back, shouting as he rallied the other orc warriors who were still stunned by Kephiel’s earlier display, “You are clearly tarnishing the dignity of our Austro-Hungarian tribe; you shouldn’t even exist here! Gelorum and Gu Erdan are also traitorous dogs who have abandoned orc dignity!”
“Kay, Kayle Bloodhoof! What are you still dawdling for? For the dignity of our Austro-Hungarian tribe, hurry and punish these two traitors!”
“Eh? Oh… Oh! Moo!!!”
The Minotaur brother, startled into a daze, finally snapped back
As the massive form of the Minotaur charged towards us like a tank, I took a step back and glanced at the script.
【Kyle Bloodhoof, high-ranking orc warrior, Minotaur, large and strong, but helpless against magic.】
“Magic.”
“Mm.”
Kefir nodded gently, raising one hand. A cold wind swept through, and suddenly, shards of ice began to form around the Minotaur warrior’s feet! The enraged Minotaur didn’t notice this; although it lifted a foot to crush the solid ice, the weight of its trapped heel caused it to tumble right in front of Kefir.
“Minotaur, dignity is not earned by listening to others or fighting; it is something you must claim for yourself.”
Kefir’s words had the flavor of a protagonist, but unfortunately… the dumb beast before us couldn’t understand a word. It bellowed a few times, preparing to rise and fight again, while Kefir seemed unwilling to hold back any longer; a violent clash appeared inevitable!
But in the next moment!
A sudden change occurred; the open tent’s top was suddenly covered by dark clouds, and the once clear sky seemed to turn into night!
“Wha… what!? Why has the sky turned dark!?”
“Wait! This situation, it can’t be…!”
Amidst the orcs’ panic, in the dimming environment, the candelabras symbolizing the position of the chieftain of the Austro-Hungarian tribe began to sway. The flickering flames were already at a point where it wouldn’t be surprising if they extinguished at any moment, yet none of the candles went out. Instead, the dancing candlelight cast enormous shadows that loomed before us on the tent’s canvas, resembling monstrous claws and tails—massive and ethereal, yet exuding a palpable power that even made Kefir glance over in caution!
Finally, within that vast shadow, a pair of emerald green eyes suddenly glimmered, accompanied by claws that seemed to symbolize “kingship”!
I had a rough idea of what was appearing, especially when, in the next moment, all the orc warriors present, including the Minotaur who was just about to rise for revenge against Kefir, cast aside their anger and knelt before that dancing shadow!
“Great Chieftain!!”
The respectful voices of the orcs coincided with the appearance of my script!
【The Great Chieftain of the Austro-Hungarian Tribe—Saer appears!】
Unlike before, this time the mysterious chieftain appeared before me with enough “clarity.” However… why did this chieftain choose to appear at this moment? What could they possibly want…?
After a moment of respectful submission, the previously nosebleeding great shaman suddenly found a “backing” and became elated! It made an evil gesture towards me, signaling “you can just wait to die!” while crawling forward. When it looked up and spoke, it was like an old actor with tears streaming down their face!
“G-Great Chieftain! You have finally appeared! If you had come any later, our Austro-Hungarian tribe would have been decimated by those despicable humans and elves!”
Decimated, my foot! How are you not the most decayed one here!?
The candlelight swayed, casting the enormous shadow, and seeing that the chieftain had merely appeared without saying a word, the audacious great shaman hurriedly continued.
“It’s these two humans here, colluding with the dishonorable high-ranking orc warriors, Grom and Gu Erdan, who want us to endure humiliation and survive under the slander and defamation of those elven women! They even resorted to threats of violence!”
“Please, deliver your divine decree! All of us righteous orc warriors will immediately expel these outsiders and traitors from our sacred tribe forever!”
I clenched my fists in frustration!
This is utter nonsense! But the question is, will this “Great Chieftain” really listen to my lengthy explanation!? If it represents the highest authority of the Austro-Hungarian tribe, then at this moment, it is most likely to believe the great shaman, who is unaware of the situation!
I had no choice but to think this through! I needed to check the script to determine what to do next!
However, just as I looked at the script, the shadow swayed and suddenly extended! The great shaman, who had been so excited, thinking it could rely on the chieftain to teach me and Kefir a lesson, was directly sent flying by that shadow!
At the same time, the content of the script that appeared left me utterly astonished.
[The Great Chieftain Sa’er Chooses to Believe the Words of Oujilide!]
The atmosphere was heavy and murky, and indistinguishable voices of men and women began to rise!
“Witch, even though I know you are a rat of the Skaven clan, your lies are far too childish!”
“It is you who has sullied the dignity of the orcs!”
