20. Humanity, die!
From the perspective of the Grand Sorcerer.
Straining to suppress the displeasure and fury bubbling within, he managed to squeeze out a few farewell words, watching as the diminutive human named Li De and that idiot, Ge Luo Mu, departed. But once they were gone, the Grand Sorcerer’s pent-up rage could no longer be contained; it erupted!
“Chirp chirp chirp!! That human! That worm! The Skaven clan will never let him go! We will absolutely shred him and his woman! Yes! Yes!”
After all, this human not only obstructed his plans but had also humiliated him at the previous council meeting with his mother pig! Although the clan leader had given them a chance afterward, today he dared to come back with the utterly disgraceful Ge Luo Mu to provoke and mock him! This… worm-like human! Did he even understand who he was speaking to!?
He was the Grand Sorcerer of the Austro-Hungarian tribe, and in the absence of the clan leader, he was the ruler of the Austro-Hungarian tribe! A noble high-ranking beastman! And the Austro-Hungarian tribe would never allow such a cunning and arrogant human to exist! He had disrupted his plans and dared to mock him; at this point, he could forget about leaving unscathed!
With this thought, the still-fuming Grand Sorcerer casually overturned several pieces of furniture, the noise attracting his servants—many of whom were fellow ratmen of the same clan.
“Grand Sorcerer! Let us go kill that human who just insulted you, yes yes!”
These ratmen were not as robust as other beastmen, but thanks to this, they were adept at stealth and engaging in unsavory tasks.
Though he too wished for his kin to take advantage of the night and stealthily end the lives of those two human worms, the Grand Sorcerer quickly realized: as the Grand Sorcerer of the Austro-Hungarian tribe, he needed to embody that role here. He could not act like those foolish beastmen who only sought revenge; at the very least, he could not resort to the methods suggested by his kin.
“What do you understand!”
The Grand Sorcerer slammed his cane down, chirping angrily at the ratmen before him, “Right now, those two humans are under investigation by the clan leader. If they are gutted, Ge Luo Mu and Gu Er Dan, those two disgraceful fools, will definitely find us!”
Most importantly: he could not allow human affairs to interfere with the impending conflict between the Austro-Hungarian tribe and the elves. As the Grand Sorcerer, his Skaven clan needed to leverage this conflict for greater ambitions!
The Grand Sorcerer’s tail flicked back and forth in agitation.
The shadows frequently seen in the temples of the Austro-Hungarian tribe and the elven territories were originally an unexpected occurrence that no one could have anticipated. Such a traitor daring to flee the Austro-Hungarian tribe certainly deserved to be gutted! However, the ensuing conflict between beastmen and elves had presented the Grand Sorcerer with a rare opportunity!
Yet, the arrival of the two humans brought by Ge Luo Mu and Gu Er Dan interrupted the plans he had already prepared. If the conflict between the Austro-Hungarian tribe and the elves were to cease, his “business” and “cooperation” would be impossible to continue in a state of peace!
And now, the “conflict” the Grand Sorcerer desperately wanted to incite was being suppressed by two boring humans, which only added to his frustration! Not to mention that detestable provocation from that human just now!
“Foolish human, you will pay for your provocation… chirp…”
The Grand Sorcerer sneered; although that human’s provocation had nearly driven him to pounce and tear him apart, once he calmed down, he realized: the proud and arrogant human had inadvertently provided him with an excellent means to achieve his goals while eliminating two humans who had already offended him multiple times!
“Hey! Are there any subhumans in our clan!?”
With this thought, the Grand Sorcerer immediately seized a servant and asked sharply.
The method he had suddenly thought of required subhumans from the Austro-Hungarian tribe—those at the very bottom of the tribe’s hierarchy, the “slaves” who would go unnoticed even if they died in the streets, were the most suitable candidates.
However, the servants’ responses made the Grand Sorcerer furrow his brow.
