4. The Sarcastic Maid (Vote at the Beginning of the Month~)
The familiar yet entirely out-of-place young maid had already been here for who knows how long by the time Kephiel and I returned home, skillfully using the kitchen utensils to prepare my late-night snack.
Everything seemed to follow a natural course, but in reality… something was off from the very beginning!
Nilu’s appearance instantly swept away the dreamy feelings I had from the “certain events” with Kephiel over the past few days, and the dizzying allure of the Queen. My mind felt as if it had been doused with a bucket of ice water, instantly waking me up!
Alongside me, Kephir was also on high alert, but compared to me, her actions were much more straightforward! Alsas was summoned immediately, various fairy powers converging. Kephir, who understood Nilu’s danger far better than my script, had no intention of holding back from the very beginning!
By the time I wanted to speak up, it was already too late! Kephir had launched her attack. However… it seemed it wasn’t too late, because in the face of all of Kephir’s actions, Nilu didn’t even want to acknowledge her. The next moment, the emerald-green wind fairy Magnus flew out. Unlike before, this time the fairy’s master was right beside her, and naturally, the fairies’ powers received a significant boost.
Kephir swung her sword in vain; the emerald “air wall” barely moved, aside from a few cracks appearing!
【Nilu arrives with all her fairies!】
The script emerged, narrating the facts, revealing just how dangerous Nilu was after equipping all the fairies she had obtained. I had already experienced this deeply! More importantly: Nilu’s reaction in the face of Kephir’s attack was something I was very concerned about.
“Kephir, wait a moment!”
This time, I finally had the chance to speak up and stop her. In my script, Nilu was probably the “big boss among big bosses.” Even if I put it lightly: how could one just charge in without any “preliminary dialogue” when encountering a “big boss” out of the blue?
Not to mention, the recent description of Nilu in the script left me puzzled about the subsequent content.
【Nilu comes to meet Oqilide.】
It wasn’t that I was directly siding with her or speaking on her behalf, but… Nilu’s appearance this time, both in her current state and as indicated by the script, showed no hostility.
Rather than letting Kephir and her clash violently, perhaps it was better to look at it from another angle.
With that thought, I stepped forward and asked, “Why are you here?”
A hint of pride flashed in Nilu’s gaze as she looked at Kephir, as if to boast: I won’t have any conflict with Nilu at all.
“As your maid, after taking care of everything in the Rodmadi Empire for you, of course, I would come to see you~”
The script remained unchanged; Nilu’s smiling words matched exactly with what she was thinking at that moment—she was here just to see me. Although I understood that Nilu’s attitude towards me would lead to such thoughts, still…
You really know how to pick your moments, don’t you? You show up boldly at home while Kephir and I are together, even doing housework, as if you’re afraid Kephir won’t be angry enough and might not want to strike you down directly?
“The fairies I sent earlier were to eliminate the ‘traitors’ to me and the Rodmadi Empire. However, since they have all been obtained by you, I won’t say anything more. So, I came to find you, simply to return to your side as your maid, Mr. Oqilide.”
Before I could respond, Kephir, who had not yet sheathed the magic sword Alsas, exerted even more force, and the cracks in the “air wall” created by Magnus were about to spread completely.
The big boss was very angry, and of course, I understood. If I were Kephir, I would be angry too—being confronted by another woman like this, how could one endure it?
“Sorry, but we’re not hiring maids right now.”
“Whether you want to or not, it shouldn’t have anything to do with Mr. O’Keefe, right, Miss? No, I guess now… we should add a ‘former’ to that~”
Unlike the respectful and serious attitude she had towards me, Nilu was practically provoking Kephir, or perhaps it was more accurate to say… she simply couldn’t be bothered to engage.
“!”
This was different from the queen’s earlier seductive demeanor towards me, which exuded a “main consort aura.” Kephir instinctively sensed the displeasure. After all, unlike her relationship with the queen, the dynamic between Kephir and Nilu was far more complicated and chaotic.
“I advise you not to get too angry, Kephir. Do you really want to waste your time fighting me until dawn, only to look around at the mess and cause trouble for Mr. O’Keefe?”
Though annoyed, Kephir could still understand these words. There was no point in battling Nilu here for hundreds of rounds; not only would it lead to no conclusion, but it would also create a huge commotion. Not to mention, my script with Nilu would surely come to an end, leaving us with nothing to see.
Reluctantly, Kephir and I had to accept the presence of this “maid,” and we spent a truly grueling night keeping an eye on Nilu’s every move. And this was only the beginning.
The next day, morning.
When I realized that Nilu was still active in the house while I had the audacity to fall asleep, I suddenly opened my eyes to find Kephir, still alert, providing me with a pillow on her lap while keeping a watchful eye in Nilu’s direction.
“Sorry, I just dozed off. Where’s Nilu!?”
“……”
Before Kephir could respond, the noise coming from nearby already gave me the answer. It turned out that Nilu was once again using the kitchen, and after fully transforming into a boss, she couldn’t possibly still retain her maid skills, could she? How was she back to doing things only a maid would do…
In that moment, with Kephir and Nilu both present, I felt as if I were back to the days when I first met Kephir. But that was ultimately just a fantasy; the reality was that the relationship between Kephir and Nilu had long since deteriorated to a point of tension, where it wouldn’t be surprising if the two women started fighting at any moment.
Continuing like this was not a solution; it was even disrupting the daily life between Kephir and me. Finally, as Kephir set breakfast on the table, I looked at her, still on guard, and said,
“Kephir, there’s nothing strange in there. Don’t let unnecessary worries disrupt our normal routine.”
Kephir glanced at the breakfast.
“But…”
“Mr. O’Keefe, I don’t mind at all. If there’s one less person eating, I might even find it easier~”
“Miss Nilu, please be quiet for a moment!”
So exhausting, so troublesome, so dangerous! After just one exchange, the two women were already on the verge of fighting! Their gazes were electric!
But… I am also very clear about why this is happening, so there’s only one last solution left!
Without even looking, I took the lead, grabbed a spoon, and randomly scooped up something to shove into my mouth, then turned to Kefi’er.
“Kefi’er, don’t let Nilu’s appearance disrupt your life. Just go on as usual until something happens.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be ‘watching’.”
With that, I turned my gaze to Nilu, who was simply smiling and staring at me.
What exactly is the reason for her appearance this time…

Last month’s lottery winners remember to check the group; the list is in a separate event chapter!
I’m not Santa Claus, you know. If you don’t tell me, I won’t know the address.
I’ll throw in a ticket this month too, thanks Eggplant.
