5. The Order of the Divine (Not Really)
Under my explanation, Kefi’er somewhat realized: if we just keep stalemating with Nilu, neither side will come out well, and clearly, we are the ones more affected compared to Nilu, who just came to see me.
So, after I confirmed that in the script, Nilu temporarily had no intention of harming me or Kefi’er, Kefi’er could only endure the irritation of being provoked by Nilu and sat down in a huff.
The scene of the three of us together felt like a long-lost memory, but now, between us… especially the relationship between Nilu and Kefi’er, just looking at the surface already gave me a headache. Not to mention that after Nilu served us tea, she directly sat down next to me, which nearly made Kefi’er swing the spoon in her hand like a blunt weapon, aiming it straight at Nilu’s head.
To prevent this silent atmosphere from dragging on and attracting some strange trouble, I hurriedly spoke up to ease the awkwardness. With the support of the script, I wasn’t too foolish in this regard.
“Nilu, you don’t belong in the Great Yīng Empire. Could you please go back?”
“I’ll keep my identity hidden, Mr. Oujilide~”
Nilu answered with a smile, but… the problem wasn’t with her at all; it was on our side. After all, ever since we returned from the Queen and the Moon Fairy last night, the next step in Kephir and my plan was to head to that somewhat scatterbrained Light Fairy, the Church’s Saint, Ikusis.
Since the script there remained vague, it was truly difficult to know what would happen without personally stepping onto that territory, or whether there were any self-disciplined fairies present. All these plans had already been set, and the Queen was still waiting for our arrangements, yet…
Nilu’s sudden appearance had completely disrupted our actions. The plan for Kephir and me to go out was theoretically a secret, but… if Nilu continued to linger here, it seemed impossible to keep it from her without saying anything.
Moreover, we couldn’t even show the slightest hint of our intentions. After all, Nilu’s current “thoughts” were far more “profound” than what I could perceive. She was a born BOSS; a glance, a gesture, even the slightest inflection in her words could reveal something unusual to her.
“Or is it that Mr. O’Keefe has some recent plans that have been disrupted by my arrival?”
“!”
Kephir momentarily halted her actions, but Nilu didn’t pay any attention to Kephir’s reaction. Instead, she chuckled lightly and continued to gaze at me.
“It seems that way. So, before you are willing to tell me, I won’t ask too many questions. If possible, can you take me along?”
“Nilu, what exactly are you planning…”
Perhaps it was because the resentment towards Nilu ran too deep, or maybe it wasn’t even a matter of her “coming after me.” Even after experiencing “that night,” Kephir still harbored an uncontrollable hostility towards Nilu, unable to contain herself, already planning to “fight” with her again!
“We do need to go out.”
I pressed down on Kephir’s hand, speaking before the two could clash again, “Kephir, if she wants to know, we can’t hide it from her now.”
Reluctantly, Kephir gave in, and I turned back to Nilu, saying, “Our destination is towards the Church.”
Rather than trying to guard against everything, it was better to directly inform Nilu of our actions; that was my plan.
Nilu blinked, “Ikusis is already yours, and you’re still going? Are you… looking for the self-disciplined fairy?”
I remained silent in response.
The script was uncertain, but if it was like before, then there would indeed be self-disciplined fairies appearing in the direction of the Church. However, Nilu’s answer surprised me.
“There are no self-disciplined fairies at the Church, Mr. O’Keefe.”
“Why?”
Without any fairies, why would a script resembling the main storyline still appear!?
I instinctively asked Nilu, and she didn’t hold back, explaining it to me directly.
“That’s because the Church isn’t the ‘nation’ you imagine. From the intelligence I’ve gathered, the Church has transformed into an ‘organization’—spreading out like a spider’s web. Do you understand what I mean?”
[Nilu explained the current state of the Church to O’Keefe.]
The script unfolded, and indeed… Nilu wasn’t lying at all.
“If possible, I would prefer that you don’t go to a place where you’re completely unfamiliar, where there’s not even a force to protect you.”
Nilu shot a glance at Kephiel, seemingly mocking her for not being a real “protector,” and continued, “However, I won’t stop your decision; I just hope you’ll take me along. Even if you might still have some doubts about me… you should be able to ‘see’ whether I’m lying, right? In that case, even if I’m just explaining the existence and inner workings of the Church to you, you won’t lose anything, will you?”
“And if something unexpected happens, I might not perform worse than some people, you know~ Mr. O’Keefe.”
Kephiel was on the verge of drawing her sword: “Nilu, do you want to compare now?”
“Hahaha~ No need to rush, Miss.” After a calm smile, Nilu wore a dismissive expression, “We’ll have plenty of opportunities to prove our strengths and weaknesses to each other later.”
“Hey? Are you saying you already know there will be danger?”
“Taking someone’s words out of context is something only losers and mistresses would do, you know~ Missy~”
Two powerful figures, I beg you to be a bit more honest!!
It’s absolutely not that I want to flaunt my family status, but… when I could no longer endure it, I instinctively slapped the table, and surprisingly, both Kephiel and Nilu actually fell silent.
Seizing this rare opportunity, I hurriedly spoke up.
“Kephiel, we have no choice.”
“I know…”
In the script, Nilu had come looking for me; at this point, trying to shake her off to handle something alone wouldn’t give us that chance, given Nilu’s abilities.
So, it had come to this—there was only the second option left.
“And so… Nilu, we can’t stop you, so if you want to come along, then come. But we’re not going to the Church for leisure. If you really just want to ‘follow,’ then let’s set some ground rules. I hope you can exercise restraint and avoid unnecessary troubles and conflicts, especially regarding Kephiel.”
Before my words had even faded, Nilu was already standing up.
“Please lift your skirt and slightly bow: ‘I shall obey your command, my King.’”
I haven’t even stated the terms yet, and you’re already so eager to agree, Miss Nilu.
By the way, that attitude from earlier really needs to change, or else…
This journey will be anything but peaceful.
I stole a glance at Kephir, whose anger was nearing its maximum.

I must admit this was inspired by my recent playthrough of Odyssey. But it fits surprisingly well. A new character is coming, coming, and Alsace’s new pillow is already gurgling.
At the beginning of the month, I was a ticket demon, howl! Tickets, come!
