19. Candlelight Dinner (Early Month Ticket Request~)
Regarding Lin Ke’s special “private invitation” from that night, since my two lovely companions… ahem! The two beautiful girls had no objections to my meeting with Lin Ke, I had no reason to hesitate any longer.
A few days later, as the sun set and night fell, the bustling trade district of the capital of the Merli United Kingdom gradually transformed into a vibrant nightlife, a moment for the busy merchants to unwind after a long day. Following Lin Ke’s insistence that we must part ways, I arrived at the agreed location.
Just as Lin Ke had said, the top floor of this skyscraper I stood on was high enough to overlook a large part of the capital of the Merli United Kingdom. Here, the rooftop environment, combined with transparent glass railings for safety, had been transformed into an open-air restaurant by the owner of the building, who was eager to make money. By the time I arrived, I could already see the lone dining table, with a candle holder slowly burning in the center.
Night, high-rise, candlelight, dinner…
These were indeed just as I had imagined before. And then, as the girl turned around, looking at the night view against the railing not far away, the last part of my speculation was finally completed.
“Wow! Mr. Oujili De, you really came as promised! Aha… uh, oh ho ho ho…”
Don’t suddenly start laughing like those wealthy women who learned it from street literature; it’s really disgusting, Lin Ke.
I looked at Lin Ke in front of me. If I could still call her a “tomboy” before, then tonight, even if I were to deliberately pick a fight, I could only refer to her as a “beautiful girl.” After all, all the previous occasions and scenery were probably prepared just for her. It was Lin Ke who invited me to this “candlelight dinner,” making it the finishing touch to this place.
Because, in just a few days since we last met, Lin Ke, compared to the hurried preparations of that previous night, had clearly done her “homework” during these days. Her indigo long hair was no longer hastily tied into a braid or let down carelessly; instead, it was adorned with various hair accessories, meticulously arranged. At this moment, she indeed no longer wrapped her chest tightly; the blue long dress she wore had revealed all her hidden “advantages” before me. As for her behavior, although she had just been a bit “carefree,” at least Lin Ke’s deliberately posed elegant demeanor was much more practiced than before.
Who would have thought that the beautiful girl in front of me, seemingly exuding the essence of “femininity,” was the same person who had been wielding an UZ-I type modified rapid-fire gun, shooting non-stop like a boss?
“I will, of course, come to the scheduled time and dinner.”
Regaining my composure, I silently told myself, “Don’t look at anything strange.” With my arrival, the few servants who had just led the way discreetly disappeared, just as Lin Ke had said about “booking the place.” Indeed, it was just the two of us left here. Fortunately, during my time in the Great Ying Empire, I had learned quite a bit about these troublesome etiquettes to interact normally with the queen, so I wasn’t completely flustered at this moment.
I pulled out a chair for Lin Ke, wondering how this commander, who only knew about models, actually understood some of the royal and noble etiquettes. I then sat down opposite her. As we waited for the dishes, Lin Ke forced a smile at me.
“No, no need to be so formal. I’ve booked this place tonight; there won’t be any extra people coming to cause trouble.”
I think it’s you who’s being formal, Lin Ke.
Because, with my acceptance of Lin Ke’s invitation and the arrival of our time alone, the script on my side reminded me once again of the little thoughts Lin Ke was hiding in her heart.
[Lin Ke has feelings for Oujili De.]
The same content as before; it seemed that the thoughts Lin Ke had started that night were not just impulsive whims but… most likely feelings that had quietly developed since the action to reclaim the ruins.
Rather than excitement, my mood was more complicated now. After all, with such a script, more of Lin Ke’s thoughts began to surface.
[Lin Ke has hidden concerns.]
The appearance of such content in the script also indicated that Lin Ke’s invitation for tonight was likely not just some “romantic confession.” If that’s the case, then I don’t need to pretend to be clueless and refuse; being a bit decisive wouldn’t be a problem. This way, Lin Ke’s so-called “concerns” wouldn’t remain hidden until the end, unresolved.
In the next moment, Lin Ke picked up a wine bottle beside her, skillfully uncorking it, and stood up to pour wine for me.
“The servants are still preparing. Why don’t you accompany me for a couple of drinks first~”
Every move, every word, was indeed filled with elegance and charm. If it were someone else, they might really be deceived, and while Lin Ke was pouring the wine, they might sneak a few glances at the valleys and peaks that inevitably revealed themselves due to her bending over.
It’s a pity that the script had already informed me of Lin Ke’s intentions in doing so.
Kefir and Nilu had finally agreed to let me come, so to avoid misunderstandings, I shouldn’t take advantage of the situation by pretending to be oblivious.
“Lin Ke, I’m not the kind of person who would let my imagination run wild just because of a ‘feast for the eyes.'”
“Ha… haha~ what·are·you·talking·about?”
With her little thoughts exposed, Lin Ke had no choice but to sit back down. However, I could clearly see her next move and its intentions.
“By the way, just drink if you’re going to drink. Don’t pretend to be drunk; I know you can hold your liquor.”
“Ugh…”
Now Lin Ke didn’t even pour herself another drink. She set the bottle down, her thoughts being pierced one after another, leaving her unable to even buy time. She could only look at me with a hint of complaint.
Don’t look at me like that, Lin Ke. If it weren’t for my own ‘urgent matters,’ I wouldn’t risk being given the finger by you just to expose what you wanted to do tonight right away.
“If you have any requests or secrets you want to tell me, just say it directly, Lin Ke. If I really take the bait tonight, guess whether I’ll be sleeping on a washboard or a corrugated cardboard tomorrow?”
The script had already made it clear about Lin Ke’s current thoughts, which naturally indicated: Lin Ke must have invited me here under the guise of gratitude for some ‘reason.’
Moreover, she only invited me and not Ke Fei Er or Ni Lu. We three are all buyers, and Lin Ke’s actions this time clearly had nothing to do with a “businessman’s” gratitude.
Coupled with her obviously prepared outfit for the night and those little actions just now, it wasn’t hard to imagine Lin Ke’s ultimate purpose for inviting me.
[Lin Ke has a request of Ou Ji Li De.]
This was the conclusion I reached from the script. The secret Lin Ke had been hiding was likely this, and she was painfully aware: if she could persuade me, it would be equivalent to persuading Ke Fei Er and Ni Lu, which is why she chose to invite me alone.
“Ah haha~ there’s no helping it now.”
After the surprise, Lin Ke finally “surrendered.”
“If I drag this out any longer, we might fail the collaboration. In fact, I do have an unreasonable request, but I didn’t expect you to catch on so quickly! No wonder you’re a man with a harem!”
That last sentence was unnecessary!
