3. What Happened Yesterday
During my time in the United Kingdom of Meri, I hadn’t encountered any of the “troubles that men tacitly agree to face” because Lin Ke’s family castle was so large that having one room each was no problem at all. However, the journey back to the Great Ying Empire from the United Kingdom of Meri was a different story!
The United Kingdom of Meri is located in the far east, and the return trip was long. While enduring the elements was one thing, the most significant issue was that we were all in the same vehicle, and we had even brought along a blood fairy who occasionally buzzed in my ear. This made it difficult for me to address some rather embarrassing issues that I couldn’t bring myself to voice in front of others, and they remained unresolved throughout the journey.
After returning to the Great Ying Empire, we hurried to meet the queen, and it was only at that moment that I could truly say we had “rested.” In this way, the recent argument between Ke Fei Er and Ni Lu left my mind in a haze, and I inadvertently revealed the dirty thoughts I had at that moment!
As soon as the words left my mouth, I regretted it! In the midst of Ke Fei Er and Ni Lu arguing over “who should stay,” it was already clear what my sudden suggestion of “both should stay” implied. This was no longer just playing dumb; it was akin to courting disaster!
Sure enough, in the next instant, both women immediately ceased their quarrel, and two pairs of astonished eyes turned toward me! The difference between them was…
“…”
Rather than surprise, Ni Lu seemed more taken aback by the nonsense I had just blurted out in a moment of heat.
Just as I was about to pretend I hadn’t said anything, it was already too late.
“!”
After her initial shock, Ke Fei Er finally understood the implications of my earlier foolishness. Her cheeks gradually flushed with two shades of red, and her voice became stammering, leading her to react in the most instinctive way for a noble lady.
“You… you pervert!”
In her panic, Ke Fei Er completely miscalculated the force of her “reminder.” Just as I was about to explain that I had merely been joking in a moment of excitement, she delivered a heavy punch to the top of my head, causing me to close my eyes and collapse.
“Ah! I-I’m sorry…”
Immediately, as she came to her senses, Ke Fei Er rushed to support me as I was about to fall. Unfortunately, I had no intention of waking up at that moment; I could barely hear what Ke Fei Er was saying, and my hearing was becoming increasingly muddled. It wouldn’t be long before I would completely “lie down.”
Soon, I could hear the voices of Ke Fei Er and Ni Lu nearby.
“Miss, I didn’t expect you to be so proactive.”
“Wait… I didn’t mean it like that! It’s all his fault for saying such strange things, okay?!”
After a moment of silence, I felt as if I were being held by the shoulders by the two girls, and they laid me down on the bed.
Then, another unbearable silence ensued, until Ke Fei Er finally broke the awkwardness.
“W-what do we do now?”
“Isn’t it the problem you caused by acting before Mr. Oujilide could respond? Shouldn’t you be the one to resolve it?”
“Then you should just leave! What are you still doing here?”
“I wouldn’t mind that, but Miss, Mr. Oujilide hasn’t answered yet. If I leave now and he wakes up tomorrow feeling dissatisfied with your presence, don’t blame me for not warning you.”
It seemed that Ke Fei Er’s hand, which had just grabbed my arm, loosened again.
“Wait! Don’t go! Uh… tsk, Nilu, you did that on purpose, didn’t you?”
“Who knows, Ke Fei Er, but it seems to me that you were the one who hit him on purpose.”
“I just… Ugh, what do we do now?!”
“What do you think we should do? Anyway… I don’t mind~”
“……”
It felt like Ke Fei Er and Nilu were arguing right beside me, but… with a longer silence settling in, I truly knew nothing of what happened next.
——
The next day arrived, and as the sunlight slightly stung my closed eyes, I woke up.
I had the distinct feeling that I had just enjoyed a very “refreshing” sleep; that was my first impression upon waking. Could it be that I finally distanced myself from danger and trouble, lying on a soft bed after a long journey, welcoming the comfort that the new day brought? At that moment, I even felt that the pressure and “thoughts” that had accumulated in my body over the past few days had all been “released”!
In simpler terms: I woke up, and I woke up in a sage-like state. There was nothing strange about it; everything around me felt familiar and nostalgic. The morning sunlight streaming through the open window warmed my body, cozy and comfortable.
My gaze turned to the two figures in the room—Ke Fei Er and Nilu. When did they come in? They were busy with their own tasks while waiting for me to wake up. Then, I recalled what happened yesterday: I had been “knocked out” by a punch from Ke Fei Er, who was flustered.
This isn’t Kephir’s fault; no matter how I think about it, it was the strange things I said back then that led to this. With that thought in mind, I immediately apologized.
“Kephir, Nilu, I’m sorry for saying some odd things last night, and I really appreciate you both for helping me to bed.”
The kind of lsp remarks I made should have earned me a punch from Kephir, after which she would storm off, leaving me to accept my misfortune. But, heh heh~ a wife is a wife, after all; she treats me so well!
And Kephir, you don’t need to worry today! Although I don’t know why, I woke up feeling as clear-headed as a monk in meditation, and all those dangerous thoughts that popped up last night have miraculously vanished, haha!
Noticing that Kephir didn’t respond, I called out again.
“Um… Kephir, Nilu?”
It was at that moment that I began to feel a strange chill creeping up my back.
“Nothing… I can’t just let you lay your head on the table.”
Kephir replied in a very ordinary tone, even too lazy to glance back at me.
Soon after, Nilu appeared, carrying a tea tray.
“Mr. O’Keefe, if you’re awake, you should go wash up. Miss, the tea is ready.”
“Mm.”
“Sugar?”
“No need, just give you a portion.”
“Thank you.”
Kephir and Nilu were communicating with a tone that was almost coldly ordinary. It seemed nothing was wrong, but… it felt like everything was off! Because…
Aren’t these two rivals supposed to seize any opportunity to pick on each other, throwing sarcastic remarks until they end up arguing, with me having to mediate? Last night was just like that! Why has it suddenly become so “harmonious” this morning!?
A shiver ran through me, and in an instant, I was completely awake! Because: although I had never seen this scene before, I suddenly felt it bore a striking resemblance to some things that had happened previously.
For example… the day after my first time with Kephir, or the day after that “night” with Nilu that I have no memory of! Only this time, the ones appearing in my room were Kephir and Nilu.
“……”
My silence caught Ke Fei’er’s attention.
“What’s wrong? Just standing there, and we still have to go to Sister Wang’s later. No sleeping in!”
“Nothing… nothing at all.”
Go wash up, haha! Today is truly a wonderful day!
Hahaha…
The rational voice that emerged in my heart reminded me: Don’t ask anything, don’t think about anything.

You ask what happened, and I say: No comment.
