1. Embrace the Glory of the Beastmen! (Seeking votes at the end of the month~)
The conflict between elves and beastmen has a long history. When did this conflict actually begin? If even those ancient elves cannot recall, then the beastmen are even less likely to know.
Perhaps it is a conflict that occurred long ago? Or maybe it is a recent clash? In any case, it is unclear when the Austro-Hungarian tribe and the Prussian Kingdom, where both sides are located, drew the line in the sand, and Recently, they have truly gone to war.
At this moment within the Austro-Hungarian tribe, compared to the mechanical and orderly actions of the Prussian Kingdom regarding war, the orcs of the Austro-Hungarian tribe charged forward with a more fervent mindset. They fought using ancient sorcery and their robust bodies against the strange weapons of the elven women. Although there were casualties, thanks to the orcs’ powerful recovery abilities, as long as they still had a breath left, they could quickly charge again.
The back-and-forth struggle along the border was essentially a tug-of-war with no real outcome, and even though the orcs had strong recovery capabilities, they simply could not withstand the bombardment from the elves! This outcome made the few orcs who still had their wits about them, those who had not joined the frenzied mainstream call to war, feel uneasy.
Among them were the high orc warriors, Gelrom and Gu Erdan.
However, when they sought out the “Great Wizard,” who was currently leading the orcs of the Austro-Hungarian tribe, to discuss this meaningless war, they were met with… a furious rebuke!
“Do you two wish to abandon the glory of the high orcs!?”
This single sentence silenced everything Gelrom and Gu Erdan wanted to say. The vast majority of the orcs participating in the war within the Austro-Hungarian tribe were shouting about “glory and dignity,” while the Great Wizard, who ruled over the Austro-Hungarian tribe, eagerly watched the orcs charge into battle. Gelrom and Gu Erdan clearly felt that, as time passed, their Austro-Hungarian tribe seemed to be increasingly outmatched by the elves!
“But Great Wizard, if those long-eared women attack again next time with a bunch of strange weapons, our casualties will only increase, right!?”
The two orc brothers had already noticed: the weapons used by those long-eared women were worlds apart from those of the Austro-Hungarian tribe. More importantly, the elves suffered almost no casualties at the start of the battle, while their own orcs were constantly getting injured and falling. Even though they could be taken away for treatment immediately,… such injuries would accumulate over time, eventually reaching a critical point…
In simpler terms: if they did not find some other way to recuperate, it would only be a matter of time before those elven women breached the territory of the Austro-Hungarian tribe.
However, this inquiry received no direct response from the Great Wizard before them.
In the next moment, the comfortably seated Great Wizard stood up, shot a cold glare at the two brothers, and a hint of disdainful smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
“Hmph, casualties? Noble orcs fear no pain; only cowards would be afraid of such things! Moreover, our Austro-Hungarian tribe has the protection granted to us by the Great Chieftain, allowing us to fear neither pain nor death, and one day we will slay all those elves! We will reclaim all our glory!”
“You two do not believe, do you? Then I will show you the protection the Great Chieftain has for our noble orcs!”
With that, the hunchbacked Great Wizard walked out of the temple used to worship the Great Chieftain of the Austro-Hungarian tribe, where the Great Wizard resided. At this moment, it was deep into the night, but outside, a group of high orcs was already waiting with torches, ready to follow the Great Wizard’s orders and launch the next attack on the elven Prussian Kingdom!
“Tribe members! Our ‘war’ with those ugly elves is about to end! Although we are injured, bleeding, and sacrificing, we have not died; we have returned to the Austro-Hungarian tribe, returned to the embrace of the orcs! “
Following the Great Wizard outside, Gelrom and Gu Erdan quickly saw a fervent “warrior” gesturing wildly to rally the orcs for war, his words already filled with fanaticism. Although it was hard for the two brothers to imagine why the Great Wizard was so eager to wage a futile war against the elves, …
His words could indeed inspire other orcs to charge, and it seemed he truly had that ability!
“Although we do not have the shameless weapons of the elves, we noble orcs possess the protection granted to us by the Great Chieftain!”
For just at that moment, as the Great Wizard spread his arms, behind him, in the direction of the temple… under the torchlight, a massive shadow was indeed waving and swaying! The Austro-Hungarian tribe did have a “Great Chieftain,” but the Great Chieftain had never appeared before others, and even now, Gelrom and Gu Erdan were still guessing what the Great Chieftain was like!
However, the other orcs did not entertain such thoughts; the moment they saw this truly large and
“Embrace the glory of the orcs!”
“For the tribe, smash their bones!”
In such a state, Gelrom and Gu Erdan knew: it was fundamentally impossible to persuade them again. This time… how many more clansmen would have to be sacrificed?
The great shaman added a final remark: “The land where the elves reside was originally our land as orcs! Those despicable long-eared women have taken our homeland! Clansmen, let us use the blood of those long-eared women to honor our glory !”
Accompanied by waves of cheers from the orcs, the great shaman turned to Gelrom and Gu Erdan!
In the next moment, in front of all the high orc warriors present, he finally revealed the purpose that Gu Erdan had just guessed!
“And the Austro-Hungarian tribe does not need high orc warriors who lack dignity and glory!”
“Gelrom, Gu Erdan! You two are clearly high orc warriors, yet you are unwilling to wage war against the elves! From today on, you are no longer members of the high orcs! Go back to your homes; there is no place prepared for you among the high orcs of the Austro-Hungarian tribe!”
“Boo!!”
The orcs below immediately erupted in boos, after all… for the noble orc warriors, the most despised were certainly cowards.
However, it was precisely because of this that Gelrom could not understand: was his thought really “cowardice”? To roar onto the battlefield like other orc warriors, only to fall meaninglessly under the elves’ meticulous preparations—was that what it meant to be a warrior?
“I!”
“Gelrom…”
Just as he wanted to say something, Gelrom’s shoulder was grabbed by Gu Erdan. The latter shook his head and then pulled Gelrom away, the two orcs left in shame amidst the laughter of the other orc warriors.
“Let’s not argue anymore; let’s return to our residence near the border. It’s much faster to go to the front line to stop them than to prevent the great shaman’s actions here.”
