Chapter 52 – Village in a Small Forest (5)
The inside of Ar’estel, where the barrier was released, was wider than imagined.
As we entered from the entrance into the interior, the narrow road became wider and an impossibly large space appeared, like a four-dimensional pocket.
“Wow… It’s a much bigger space than it looks from the outside.”
“Haha! Awesome, isn’t it?”
Sylvia looked proud, as if she had done it herself.
“It feels like a dungeon. It feels like a space that shouldn’t exist has been created.”
“There are only elves.”
Yuria and Rien are also looking around as if the phenomenon is fascinating.
“Come on! Let’s go to my house. Let’s move it first and then listen to what equipment you’re looking for.”
The place where Sylvia followed had a house so large that it could be considered a caravan.
We moved all the items we had brought into the house and then explained in detail what we needed to look for.
“What we’re looking for is equipment, as I said before. It’s equipment that was used by a person so strong that he was called a hero a long time ago. Have you ever heard of it?”
“Hmm… There is one like that here…”
Oh! I think I won.
I wasn’t expecting it, but I thought a clue would come out right away.
“It is said that a few hundred years ago, a very powerful monster that had never been seen before appeared here in Arestel. It happened before I was born.”
If it’s a monster you’ve never seen before, it’s definitely a Demon.
“Although it was huge, it had multiple tentacles, so it was not easy to get close to it. However, I heard that the monster’s skin was not weak, so it could not be pierced by archery or magic at the time.”
It’s a huge monster with tentacles…
A demon that looks like that seems to be Spider, the level 75 dungeon boss.
As you can easily tell from the name, it is a spider-like monster and was the largest monster until the Bihamoth that we saw last time appeared.
It is a difficult boss monster that moves on eight legs like a spider and has eight tentacles sprouting from its back. It attacks at close range with its front feet and can also attack users from a distance using its tentacles.
In addition, it was a monster with quite high defense, but it was difficult to catch, so it was not frequented unless it was a high-ranking user.
Of course, I was also a popular user who went to party with people in the community and catch them.
“At that time, an elf suddenly appeared. No one knew who it was, but what was clear was that he was a warrior.”
“Did he defeat the monster?”
At my words, Sylvia shook her head with her arms crossed.
“It would have been nice if that were the case, but unfortunately they were not able to defeat it. The archery skills of that hero, Dinah, were so great that no elf at the time could imitate it, but I heard that he suffered serious injuries in the battle with that monster and died shortly afterwards. “
“Then what happened to that monster?”
Sylvia pointed her finger down.
“Since it couldn’t be killed, the only way left was to seal it. All wizards were mobilized to seal it so that the monster could not appear in this land. So the high elves, the village chiefs, are protecting it from generation to generation to prevent the seal from being released.”
The fact that he was unable to defeat Spider on his own and was actually defeated doesn’t seem to be a very strong game character by our standards, as he is currently level 100.
Even Lien can be easily reduced to dust with a few skill hits.
“So, the equipment used by the elf named Dinah is here. Is anyone using it?”
“No, there were many elves who tried to use the equipment that inherited Dinah’s power, but not all of them were able to use it properly. Now, to commemorate Dinah’s achievements, the equipment used is displayed in the center of the village for everyone to see. It’s already done.”
The equipment used by the archers is equipment I don’t really need.
Not only is it not something I can use, but my game characters’ equipment is already much stronger and, crucially, I didn’t raise an archer.
Strangely, I didn’t like characters who used bows.
First, I need to check whether it can be used as a summoning material and, if there is a way, see if I can take it to use it somewhere else later.
“Sounds like exactly the equipment I was looking for, right? It’s a little late now, so can I go take a look at it tomorrow?”
“As much as you want! Let’s get some rest and go see it tomorrow.”
We decided to get a room from Sylvia and take care of her here while we stayed in Arestel.
They say they can do as much as they want because the deadline is so close that it can be resolved thanks to us.
“Thank you all for your hard work today! I’m glad we were able to find a clue so quickly.”
“The monster Sylvia was talking about is probably Spider. Even if the seal is released, it won’t be a problem. It would be nice to be able to summon other kids with the equipment used by the elf called Dinah.”
“It’s nothing like a spider~!”
I liked that there seemed to be no crisis and that things were resolved very easily.
“Let’s not be satisfied with this. Let’s see if there are any additional clues. There are still five people left to summon.”
“Who will be next? I want to see everyone, hehe.”
Honestly, I hope the buffer Crusader comes out next time.
Since you never know when a powerful demon may appear, you can rest assured just having a buffer where the difference between presence and absence is incomparable.
“I don’t mind anyone other than Renia.”
“You really don’t get along with Renia.”
Lien shook her head with an expression of displeasure, as if she was thinking of Lenia.
“If my lord tells us to get along well… I will tolerate it somehow, but honestly, I’m not confident.”
“Renia always teases Lien. Even if we tell her to stop, she won’t stop.”
If I summon Lenia, she might have to say something.
There will definitely be a fight because of me.
I’d like to know if there’s a set order in which things are summoned, or if it’s really random.
We greeted the next day after having a hot sleep for the first time in a long time.
I went to the center of town with Sylvia to see the equipment that Dinah had used.
There were many elves gathered in the center of the village.
“Why are so many people gathered here? Is there a festival going on?”
“Ah! Come to think of it, today is the day there is an event to honor Dinah. I forgot.”
Judging from the fact that there is even an event to honor her, it seems that Dinah, a game character, is like an idol to the elves here.
“It is said that at that time, there were many elves holding bows after seeing Dinah. Even now, among young elves, there are many whose goal is to become a strong archer like Dinah.”
“Aren’t you one of those elves?”
Sylvia was shocked when she heard what I said.
“Wow! How did you know that!?”
The more I look at him, the easier it seems to be to understand.
“How is the event going?”
“Everyone gather in the center of the village and listen to a speech by the village chief, High Elf Elune. Afterwards, we’ll have a drink together and have fun.”
When we arrived at the center of the village, we couldn’t easily get to where the equipment was because of the elf crowd.
“Hmm… Should we go see it when there are less people? There are too many elves here.”
“Jinu! Then let’s go eat something delicious.”
Currently, Yuria and Lien are moving with their arms around me, with the flowers in both my hands.
Yuria seems to have found some delicious looking food in a nearby shopping mall and she is pulling me towards it.
“Sylvia, you know a good restaurant here in Ar’estel, right? Let’s fill our bellies until the elves are gone.”
“Just trust me!”
As Sylvia was leading her to eat, she saw the people wearing black robes she had seen at the entrance yesterday.
I think there were only one or two people who saw it yesterday, but the number of people I see now is over 10.
It felt a little ominous, but I went to eat, wondering if something was going to happen.
I was quite satisfied with the restaurant that Sylvia recommended.
The food cooked mainly with vegetables felt like delicious diet food.
Yuria was very disappointed because there wasn’t much meat.
I left with my stomach satisfied, but the number of elves did not decrease much.
I also feel like there are more.
“I guess I should have just gone right away.”
[Hello everyone.]
As we tried to squeeze through the crowd as much as possible, a voice suddenly echoed throughout the village.
“What the hell is this? Is it some kind of loudspeaker magic?”
“That’s right, it looks like Elune’s speech has started.”
As the speech began, the noisy village became quiet, and only the voice of the high elf Elune echoed in the village.
The content was nothing special
It was like a sermon given by the school principal before the start of sports day.
As I looked around the village while listening to the speech, I saw an elf standing on a tall tree trunk.
I think that elf is probably a high elf named Elune.
“Sir, something is strange.”
While she was looking around, Lien suddenly spoke to her.
“What’s wrong, Lien? Is there something strange?”
“It’s a gut feeling, but it feels ominous.”
Lien said, looking around her.
“Ha, I told you yesterday. Only people who have no intention of harming this village can come in here. Did you forget?”
“I know that. It’s just a hunch.”
I’m sure it wouldn’t be a problem if Sylvia said it, but Lien’s intuition somehow made me uncomfortable.
[Then everyone enjoy the festival in honor of Dinah. What’s going on here? What are you?]
Lien’s intuition was correct, as she said something was wrong with Elune who was giving a speech.
All the elves who were listening to the speech also began to panic after hearing what they had just said.
“What, what? What’s happening all of a sudden?”
“It seems Lien’s intuition was right. Yuria, take Minercia and go rescue Elune first!”
As soon as Yuria heard me, she took off on Minercia.
Elune’s looming appearance shows that at first she was alone, but now she was facing off with a group of people in black robes surrounding her.
I heard it was ominous.
But it didn’t end there.
People wearing black robes were found climbing on top of a village building.
It looked like he was chanting or muttering something.
I don’t know what will happen if I leave this like this.
“Sylvia, first lead me to the equipment used by Dinah Elf! I don’t know what will happen.”
“Oh, okay. Follow me!”
Just in case, I should go quickly and summon my character.
We somehow made our way through the crowds to the equipment in the center of town.
“Go away!”
Looking in the direction Sylvia was pointing with her finger, there was an elf statue.
The statue was wearing various equipment, and I think that was probably the equipment Dinah used.
I tried to run towards it, but unfortunately it didn’t go my way.
Because a group of people wearing black robes were blocking my path.
“What are you doing? Get out of my way!”
“Hehe, that’s not possible. No one can interfere with this glorious day today.”
To anyone who could see them, they looked like they were in a state of madness.
It’s like someone who is obsessed with a pseudo-religion.
“As of today, a new god will descend here! No one can interfere. Rise first, Spider!”
A figure who appeared to be the leader of the group raised his arms and shouted.
Spider?
How does anyone here know Demon’s name?
Before I could answer my questions, the ground began to crack and rumble as if there had been an earthquake.
Sylvia and I lost our balance and fell to the floor, but Lien caught us.
“Are you okay, my lord?”
Thanks to Lien who caught me, I didn’t fall down, and when I looked in the sky, a large magic circle had been created.
Is this a magic circle created by the people on top of the building we saw earlier?
Before I had time to think, a black insect’s leg rose from the cracked ground.
I guess that magic circle is what unseals the spider.
Haha! Come, Spider! Become the cornerstone that will lead our elves to a new path!”
“Damn it, weren’t people who would harm the village not allowed in?”
Was it working properly?!
The leader of the group must have heard my shout and looked at me.
“Of course we have no intention of causing harm. We only want to lead the elf race to the right path!”
“I’m completely out of my mind…”
While I was unconscious, a large object came up through the cracked ground.
Of course it would be Spider.
But the good news is that spiders are not a big problem for us.
“Sir, I will exclude the enemy.”
As Lien spoke to me, he assumed a crouching position as if he was planning to run out.
I only believe in you, Lien!
“Now, it begins. Our new god has descended!”
Now that I look at it, I can’t see the equipment that was on the statue.
When I looked again, I saw several elves in that group raising their equipment towards the sky.
The others took out daggers from their arms and stabbed them into their own hearts.
I could not keep up with the situation as the actions that could only be seen in a pseudo-religion unfolded before my eyes.
But it didn’t end here.
The equipment they were carrying slowly flew up into the sky, gathered together, and soon crumpled into one point, as if being sucked into a black hole.
And the space was divided based on the point.
