Chapter 224 – Morbius (8)
“What the fuck.”
Darkness descended. The stairs were charred and the sunlight through the window colored the place where we were standing in a light gray light. We looked around with faint glints in our eyes, and heard music emanating from all directions.
“Aaaaagh!”
“Aaaaagh!”
I couldn’t understand English. Neither Millia nor I could figure out what the hell was going on. We made eye contact, then looked up and silently chanted Taffy’s name.
“What? How?”
“…How about going up first?”
Footsteps echoing from the upper floors and shouts full of rage gave us a sense of the situation.
“What a bastard! Somebody broke the power generator!”
“My materials! My research! My art made all day long! Aaaaagh!”
There was a murderous intent in every word. We made eye contact, smiled shyly, and quickly rolled our eyes up the stairs. It was because it seemed that if I ran into those wizards now, I would really have to risk my life.
******
Abigail.
Taffy was a word that did not understand its meaning, but everyone here felt the meaning of this word. People were shedding unexplained tears, and when she saw her meaningless pieces of metal and wood, she was on her knees in front of her, or screaming as she hugged her clutter.
“Aaaaa!”
“Wow!”
Taffy was contemplating what to do in the midst of her screams. Should I run away from here? Or should I go up here first and clear the top floor? While she was contemplating hiding in the shadows of her corner, wizards opened the door to her power room and checked her inside.
“Oooh!”
“Coke! Coke!”
As soon as I opened the door, black smoke swept inside like hunting bats. The core in the middle of the power chamber could not overcome Taffy’s magic and exploded. Looking at the core with round holes like an egg hunted by an enemy, the wizard said in a sad voice.
“I can’t do it, the core is completely smashed. Who did this? What kind of guy are you?”
“Wait for a sec… !”
Another wizard blinked her eyes and looked around. He could see that the reverberation of his magical power was still there. After sniffing his nose and chasing the dry, eerie smell, he turned his head and found the dark shadow Taffy hid.
“There!”
The wizard’s hand stretched forward, and a blue electric current shimmered along his arm. The spark that barely passed the taffy blew the corner of the study and made paper snow fall in the sky. Old papers, sparkling from her fire, fluttered across the floor, and Taffy clicked her tongue as she quickly moved her body in the opposite direction from her.
The wizard shouted once more.
“There is the culprit! The one who destroyed the power room is over there!”
“What?”
“Ooooo!”
Taffy didn’t know why they were so angry. What the hell did you have to do with those toys rolling around on the floor? No matter how much power goes out and all of them are ruined, aren’t wizards the ones who can create something like that?
“Kill! Catch it!”
“Aaaaa!”
But Taffy didn’t have the eloquence to tell them that, which was fortunate in a way. Taffy once again tried to escape by dipping his body into the bottom like a shark.
“This guy!”
However, when one of the wizards chanted her incantation by pressing a wand on her floor, a strong wave of magical energy spread across the floor and bounced her body up. In her frenzy, she flopped and floated like a fish caught on a fishing line, and as soon as she appeared, light bullets flew once again.
“Hick!”
Stinging lightning flashed through Taffy’s hair. Blinking her eyes and watching the lightning’s trajectory, she rolled over and looked for another escape route. Wizards had already placed their wands on her walls and floors, waiting for her to escape.
It was impossible to go out through the wall or go down.
Taffy rolled her eyes and looked up at her ceiling. The ceiling, which was full of security devices just a moment ago. Machines that had now lost their power drooped like stalactites, looking like fishbowl hanging upside down.
Taffy once again dodged the light bullets flying at her own face, and she quickly climbed up.
None of the wizards had their wands against the ceiling. Taffy’s body permeated at a faster rate than they tried to extinguish or suppress her wave.
“I went upstairs!”
“Stop! Catch it!”
“Give me back my research, bitch!”
*****
“Hmm?”
Morbius felt the magic explosion from upstairs and raised his head.
He frowned and wiped the sweat from her forehead. The material that was almost thrown out in surprise was fortunately still in Mobius’ hands.
Morbius held tight to his trembling hand and carefully mixed the ingredients again.
I was annoyed because I couldn’t figure out why this kind of accident happened while I was busy formulating the magic formula needed for the experiment. Morbius took a deep breath and, with a frown on his face, reached for his wand and reached for it. I saw the lights on the devices he had installed flickering.
“Why, why are you doing this?”
He didn’t know about the power room explosion, so he couldn’t figure out what caused the magic devices to suddenly become unstable. He was just puzzled, looking for problems with the circuits and connections he had made.
Coincidentally, he was just plugging in a new circuit into the power chamber and testing to see if the mana worked smoothly.
To Mobius, the unstable magic power and flickering as if the entire laboratory were running out of power were all out of the expected range.
“Turn it off… !”
But there were also things he didn’t expect.
The reason why the laboratory’s mana is now declining is not because he prepared the magic formula incorrectly, but because the mana core in the power room was broken.
Also, the chain he used to seal his old friend was also connected to the power chamber’s magic core.
“Mobius… !”
Because of that, the vengeful old man has now risen behind Mobius.
“Uh, how?”
Morbius shouted with a puzzled face. When he looked behind him, he saw the old friend he had once been glaring at him with eyes burning with rage. He was already drawing a magic circle with his two fingers lightly, and a chill enveloped the magician.
“My granddaughter will never give up!”
Shouted the old man and stretched out his hands in front of him. When Morbius crossed his arms in the shape of an X and cast a spell, a huge shield was created that protected Morbius and his entire magic circuit, and the old man’s ice blocks bounced off. The ice pouring with terrifying momentum did not know how to stop, and Mobius said with a frown.
“Be quiet… ! Wait for revenge!”
******
Vibration rang along with an explosion. People were just staring blankly at the sky. The guard mages preparing the anti-aircraft shield and the guards working outside had no choice but to harden their bodies after hearing the bloody explosion coming from the Mobius Mage Tower.
Some of them remembered the catastrophe that had happened before.
In the disaster that created the present Mobius Magic Tower, not only magicians but also civilians died.
Petunia Titi picked up small stones from the floor while the people looked up at the sky. Then, rolling it in her hand, she noticed it, and with a light flick of her finger, hit the guard in the distance. Fragments from her helmet bounced off like billiard balls and hit another guard in the head.
“100 million!”
“Oops!”
Widely! Widely! With a cheerful sound of blows, the guards fell down holding their temples. Petunia Titi shouted, bouncing a stone in the other direction.
“Fragments! Fragments fall! Avoid them all!”
“Green onion, fragments?”
“Aaaaa!”
At the sound of shrapnel, the wizards hurriedly raised their arms and used defensive magic, and experienced guards took the fallen wounded and retreated. And, taking advantage of the chaos caused by the distraction, Petunia Titi started running.
*****
“Uh! Ugh! Everyone, who are you!”
As we climbed the stairs, we ran into two wizards. They were wearing slightly worn-out wizard clothes, and their faces showed a youthful look. Without hesitation, I chose one of them and reached out, and at the same time, Milia hugged the other.
I hugged him and at the same time grabbed his head and breathed magic into it.
“Ahhhhh!”
The wizard rolled his eyes and passed out.
I took off his robe and looked towards Milia. Miria deftly choked the creature with her arm, compressing her carotid artery and knocking her out. The struggling man could not overcome Millia’s arm strength and fell limp.
Milia rolled her bastard down her steps, then pulled off only her outer robe and put it on.
Watching her clean up, I said to Milia.
“Isn’t it regular absorption?”
“A girl with good technique. Is it attractive?”
Milia stuck out her tongue and joked at me.
