Chapter 256 – Capital Road (8)
“The work is over. When can we go?”
At the snow leopard’s question, the soldiers made a puzzled expression. It had been a week since the construction was finished, but it was because they were still unable to hold a mediocre event. The prisoners understood that everything would end only when the ‘event’ was over, but they couldn’t seem to control their desire to get out of this messy construction site as soon as possible.
There were prisoners who kicked the fence several times a day or engaged in a war of nerves with the soldiers, so the snow leopard and the soldiers had to stop them, and the snow leopard also periodically threw questions to the soldiers as if thinking about the public opinion of the beastmen.
“There is no commitment to the event. Even the monsters attacked today. Do we have to continue living here?”
“I hope you understand. If you guys just get out of here, we’ll die. It’s the warrior’s wish that you guys hold the closing ceremony here.”
The snow leopard looked at the soldier with a talkative expression, but he just kept his mouth shut. He knew that he wasn’t blocking the soldiers because he liked them, and it wasn’t because he would die instead of these soldiers when they just ran away.
While working on this memorial tower, the snow leopard saw with his own eyes the mighty prowess of the warrior. To him, the hero was a natural disaster that could not be resisted and was power itself. It was too much of a gamble to run away confident that such a guy would not pursue them.
The snow leopard always wanted a sure way to survive. Said the soldier.
“When the construction is over, are you going to attack humans again?”
The soldier knew that the snow leopards and beastmen would be subdued as soon as the event began, and thrown into a pit of fire. He knew that from below he would pull a lever to activate the altar, ending the ceremony with the screams of the beastmen.
When the soldier now asks the snow leopard a question, he is only trying to relieve himself of his debt for the upcoming massacre.
It was natural to sympathize with the fate of young beastmen passing in front of them, or old beastmen who were too weak to walk.
Said the snow leopard.
“We will go into the snowy mountains and live very quietly. Far from attacking humans, they will treat humans as if they were their masters.”
The soldier knew that was a lie. They will do anything to survive, so if a situation arises in which they must survive again, they will always betray. The soldier spoke again.
“Is there anything better than that? So, try coexisting with humans?”
The snow leopard narrowed his eyes and looked at the altar. He had the idea that a huge altar looked down on him. He turned his head away from the intimidation he felt involuntarily and spoke to the soldier.
“I am a slave. Humans can’t be trusted. Humans always attack us when we are weak and enslave them. There were many times like that, so we found our own way to live. The world doesn’t change. It all started with humans, and humans will start again.”
The soldier said to the snow leopard, thinking of the people of the north who had died.
“But you shouldn’t have joined hands with the devil.”
“You mean you should have died for a human being? We?”
Hatred cannot be erased. The soldier realized that he and the snow leopard had a similar hatred that he would never understand. He decided to erase from his heart the sympathy for the young and old prisoner.
“You said useless things. Anyway, let’s look forward to each other as long as the ceremony ends safely.”
“I get it.”
The ceremony will not end safely. The soldier knew that, but he kept his mouth shut. He just hoped that all this foolishness would end today with someone coming and killing Hero Wolf.
******
I am short of breath. Wolf re-evaluated his tired body. It wasn’t just a matter of poor stamina. As if someone inserted a straw into his body and sucked out the power, the total amount of power was gradually decreasing.
He thought he could beat anything when he caught the demon king, but now he was in a situation where he had to put all his energy into catching a monster that was only big. Wolf couldn’t understand his own condition. Why does the power decrease? It is a power bestowed by a goddess, but who is stealing this power?
He thought that there was no way the goddess would take her power directly. It was because Wolf had faithfully fulfilled the goddess’ orders until now. In response to his colleague’s order to build a memorial tower, he even drew a blueprint and had him build the memorial tower himself, and when he was ordered to sacrifice the prisoners, he even received a date to sacrifice the prisoners.
Now, everything had come to an end, and all they had to do was hold a memorial service for Fabian and throw the prisoners into the fire pit.
But why?
Why does the strength keep draining from Wolf’s body?
Wolf raised his sword again in his doubt. He stood up from his now ruined throne and looked around. Someone. It was because a very powerful being was running towards this place.
*****
“Uh?”
Taffy stopped running toward the palace, and she looked at the huge memorial tower poking out beside the palace.
The memorial tower, which was completed without paying attention, had a very bizarre appearance no matter how you look at it. Its sharp appearance, which could have been used for evil purposes rather than for a memorial service, also seemed to indicate Wolf’s fighting tendencies.
I asked Taffy.
“What’s the matter?”
“There was a painting like that in the mansion’s laboratory.”
Taffy pointed at the memorial tower with her finger. Her lab, she said, was the lab of a research group that was doing research with ancient vampires. That there was something in that lab that looked just like that hideous tower?
“It wasn’t their thing. Older stone tablets. It was painted there.”
“On an older stone tablet?”
“It said ‘door’ underneath.”
I looked at Millia. Millia shrugged her shoulders.
“I don’t know? I’ve never seen a form like that in the demon realm. Because Taffy is an ancient vampire… Perhaps it is a style that was used earlier than we thought?”
It was a complex and questionable matter. Where the hell did Wolf see that building and make it? Who the hell designed that building?
Petunia Titi said, holding my hand.
“Evan. Now we have to kill Wolf quickly.”
Petunia Titi said, causing a blush to appear on her face. She still holds in her heart her words to have her romantic sex in this royal palace. Her rationality, which had been melted by wet sex and vaginal cumshots for several days, now thought of nothing but sex and battle with me.
She frowned at the thought of killing Wolf and muttered nonsense like ‘I love you, Wolf’, but now she took it for granted that she had to kill Wolf in order to have sex with me.
I patted her butt and nodded her head.
As she said, it was because I didn’t have time to think about these issues right now. As time goes by, Wolf will regain his strength, and the more Wolf recovers his strength, the lower our win rate.
Before the guy recovers, he attacks at once. We managed to take our eyes off the memorial tower, which kept showing off our presence, and ran toward the palace.
*****
“Uh, what… !”
One of the soldiers guarding the castle was hit in the vitals and passed out. Before another soldier standing next to him could grasp the situation, he too was punched and pinned to the wall.
Hearing the sound of hitting the walls, three soldiers rushed from the hallway and were struck in the temples by pebbles that flew by suddenly and fell down. As I continued to run forward, I found a servant hiding in a corner of the room and grabbed him by the collar.
As soon as he was caught by me, he stopped thinking of rebelling and shouted.
“Sah, save me! I’ll tell you anything!”
“Where is Wolf?”
“Gee, now! Oh, you will be in the audience room! I want to be alone, so no one disturbs me… !”
“Where is the audience room?”
“Hey, just go straight ahead through the hallway here…! Oh ho old house… !”
I decided to reward him for getting the necessary information out of him. After giving him enough pleasure to temporarily pass out, he trembled his legs, wet his pants and bit into foam. Milia, Taffy, and Petunia all nodded and moved in the direction the servant said.
As we turned around the hallway as he said, a gorgeous door was in front of us, and Petunia Titi widened her eyes and pushed us aside.
“What?”
As if two soft balls were bouncing against each other, the distance between us widened. Between them, a white sword flew at the speed of a swallow, followed by a roar and an explosion.
“Chew!”
Millia opened the shield, and Taffy hid in the shadows. Petunia Titi threw her weapon at the ceiling, punching a hole and she went into the ceiling. I had no choice but to hold on to Milia and endure the aftermath of her ignorance.
The place where the wind stopped seemed like a typhoon had passed. The huge gate that decorated the audience room had long since been blown away, and the hallway leading to the audience room had turned into a huge cylindrical passage, as if a cannon had exploded.
The soldier who passed in front of the hallway without knowing why was shattered by Wolf’s sword attack and only made his presence known with his flesh.
A cloud of dust gushed out from the direction of the audience room. He heard footsteps and the silhouette of a man was revealed.
“Did you come to hunt me?”
A man with a beard and a tired complexion, but still exuding strong energy.
The aura he gave off was overwhelming, but I stood up and said without expressing it.
“Okay. For love and justice.”
