Chapter 263 – Wedding (1)
“When shall we get married?”
The words Seong Ha-yeon threw were like blank bullets fired in a running match. Seong Ha-yeon took a glance at my child whining in the high crib and asked me that. Steamed rice in warm seaweed soup. I said as I ate the food that was placed in the middle of the table.
“The wedding. You can do it anytime, just set a date. Shall we slowly set up a date from now on?”
It’s easy to say, but it’s not easy to act. What is a wedding Wasn’t it a ceremony officially declaring that they were married? It is the romance of the bride and at the same time one of the biggest events that can be held in the house, and it was also a promise to swear to live looking only at this person.
I could have expressed it as ‘I can do it anytime as long as I set a date’, but it wasn’t really a simple thing that I could do anytime.
Seong Ha-yeon knew that, so she shook her head at my bravado and said,
“What. It’s no joke that you have to prepare for a wedding. Besides, how many brides do we have? There are three of us.”
“Five people.”
I said tapping my chest. Because if Misaki and the Almighty in my heart held a wedding, we had to march together. Seong Ha-yeon looked at my left nipple and said, perhaps feeling sorry for my words.
“Almighty sister. Sorry.”
Then he turned his head and put it on my right nipple and said,
“I’m sorry too, Misaki.”
I was dumbfounded by her behavior.
“I don’t make that distinction. Mr. Hayeon.”
“Oh, is it the other way around? Is Misaki on the left?”
Seong Ha-yeon made a joke in her own way. I met her mischievous expression, then giggled and shook her head. Then he asked Seong Ha-yeon again.
“Then why did you suddenly think of marriage?”
“Wait for a sec.”
Seong Ha-yeon stopped talking to me, and then she got up and went to the crib. It was because she was bothered by the constant whining of the child. Seong Ha-yeon, who was holding the child and moving it around for a while, patted her child’s bottom lightly, and she grumbled.
“Uh, can I change the diaper?”
“Yes.”
After Seong Ha-yeon entered the room, a bundle of diapers rolled out on her floor to the door. Inside her room, I heard the voice of a baby laughing, and the voice of Seong Ha-yeon talking to me.
“Oh, did you like that? Yes? Do you feel that good?”
I put down the spoon and walked into the room. The baby was laughing, whipping her limbs through the air. Seong Ha-yeon, who filled her new diaper, patted her baby on the bottom once and lifted her up again. The baby took one look at her mother’s face, then she took another look at my face and held out her little hand toward me.
I put the back of her nose within reach of the baby’s fingers and smiled.
The feeling of a young child touching her with her fingers was so dainty and cute that words couldn’t express it. Feeling so cute that I could do it even if I asked her to stay like this all day, I wiggled her nose around and made a barking sound and played with the baby.
Seong Ha-yeon grinned when she saw me doing that, and then she put the baby back on the bed. The child, lying on her mattress, reached out to Seong Ha-yeon, and as soon as she moved a little away, she started crying again.
“Eww! Eh!”
“Oops! All right! Okay!”
Seong Ha-yeon then hugged her baby and patted her on the back as if she couldn’t help it, and I went to her side and asked.
“Can I hold you because it’s uncomfortable when you eat?”
“Oh, will you?”
“Come on, Ain. Come to Daddy.”
Her name is Jung Ah-in. It meant to be a pretty person by using human seal for a pretty child. The child in my arms was staring at Seong Ha-yeon, but she still didn’t fuss with her to cry like she did just before.
Seeing that she rarely cries and has a quiet personality, I wondered if it was a sign that she was really trying to become a pretty child just like her name.
Seong Ha-yeon said as she watched me skillfully hold her child with one hand.
“Are you hugging the baby now? I can’t even move because it’s uncomfortable.”
“It’s basic.”
I even did a trick to soothe the child by bending my arms like a cradle and rocking them lightly. As if I was about to drop her child, Seong Ha-yeon stood with one leg out of the table, slightly bent at her waist and staring at me.
Ain closed his heavy eyelids amidst the stable shaking, and soon fell asleep with a sound of breathing. The laughing Seonghayeon and I nodded to each other, and carefully placed her child back in the cradle. Like a ballerino, she stood on tiptoe and walked back to the table silently with frequent steps, even the sound of clinking dishes.
I said.
“So, why did you suddenly think of a wedding?”
It wasn’t a question I raised because I didn’t want to get married. I was just curious about the motive for bringing up the story of marriage, which requires preparation in many ways. Seong Ha-yeon took out her cell phone from her pocket at my words and showed her photo album.
“Look.”
“What is it?”
There were wedding photos on the screen. It was a picture of a man in a tuxedo hugging his bride tightly. The man was supporting the bride with all his strength, gritted teeth, and the bride’s arms were wrapped around the man’s neck. Behind him, the guests were clapping their hands.
And a bouquet was flying in the sky.
Seong Ha-yeon showed her wedding photos one by one, she said.
“A few days ago, I went to the wedding of an older sister I knew from my sports team days. With a wedding dress. Wedding that… What do you say? Virgin Road? Isn’t it so pretty to see him walking? When I saw that, I thought so. Even if you can’t go ahead with the wedding right away. I’m going to prepare slowly from now on. How is it? Don’t you think it’ll be fine?”
I looked at the cell phone picture. Then I looked at Seong Ha-yeon’s face again. She was looking at me with her lips lightly bitten. I said kissing her on the forehead.
“Let’s talk about it together. This weekend. Go there.”
“Okay. How are our babies doing? She used to take care of me for a while when my mom brought me in when she was busy, right?”
“My mother said she would take care of it if I brought her when she was busy. Even her father keeps saying something about not showing her grandson’s face.”
Loving her grandchildren was a common story of her grandmother and her grandfather. Seong Ha-yeon grinned as she imagined her father getting impatient.
“Then, this time, I’ll have to ask my in-laws for something.”
*****
“Are you married?”
The villa I visited after a long time was so dusty that I couldn’t come often. We were simply cleaning up and preparing meals to eat. After I bought the ingredients and put the plastic bag down in front of the sink to hear what I said, Ichie stopped slicing cucumbers and blinked at me. Senior Yoo-jeong, who was cleaning the refrigerator next to her, also said with a slightly surprised face.
“It’s a marriage. It would be nice to have a wedding, but… Is it a bit sudden?”
Almighty Je, who was sitting on the bed in the prototype field, replied to senior Yoo Jeong.
“Since it will take a long time, there was an opinion that we should prepare slowly from now on. I know it’s not something to be decided suddenly, but shouldn’t we go all the way to the wedding if we discuss it slowly from now on? Because everyone wants to wear a wedding dress.”
“I want to wear it too!”
Misaki, who went shopping with me, said in a lively voice. I gave Misaki a hug and nodded her head.
“Is it so. Misaki. Misaki should be with us too.”
Ichie abruptly put down the knife she was cutting the cucumber with and pulled out her cell phone. Seong Ha-yeon asked when she suddenly saw her touching her cell phone while preparing her cooking.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m trying to fit a wedding dress.”
“Already?”
“I’m going to have sex wearing it.”
I opened my eyes wide at the sound and said.
“Oh.”
Almighty I threw her pillow at me and said.
“Because he is such a crazy person. In this sense, you should also be self-respecting! Shouldn’t we do that together after the wedding?”
As if Seong Ha-yeon was dumbfounded, she sat down on the sofa and shook her head.
“Ah, we have to do it together.”
The Almighty Emperor nodded her head and said.
“Of course. Everything has meaning when it is ‘together’.”
Senior Yoojeong smiled awkwardly. Seong Ha-yeon asked as she laughed.
“Why are you laughing like it’s someone else’s business?”
“Yes? Me too?”
“Are you not going to? Are you going on a honeymoon?”
“No, that’s not it… That… It’s so unhealthy…”
Everyone grinned. Senior Yoo-jung had already walked too many paths to pretend to be naive. She stomped her feet, wiggling her fingers, as if senior Yoo-jung herself knew that, and then abruptly changed her subject.
“Yeah, but how do we report our family register after the wedding?”
At that, all the girls looked at me. I rubbed my chin at those words and fell into trouble.
Because it could be said to be the most important issue in our marriage.
What should I do?
